Not a hologram as its a flat projection! Although it would look "3D" if you were far enough away.

@afshan it is a hologram because it has multiple viewing angles. Flat projections would look the same no matter where your vantage point was, however this changes depending on the viewing angle = hologram

that would require a lenticular sheet that would make it unviewable for most people in such a large public space. It was just a flat piece of 50/50 glass with a projector above the stage (thats why it looks semi transparent). I know the company that did this for Madonna/Gorrilaz at the grammys years ago

Yeh they will have some "patented" material that will be a particular composite with very little reflection but lots of refraction. The same thing is used in 3D beam splitter / mirror rigs to shoot 3D films
