ye iam looking forward to c all the mir3 locations going more crowded than on private server thats almost the only reason besides checking out "official" mob/weapon stats and magic..thatswhy iam goin to check out the public beta lol
at the end of the day as peeps above sad they havnt realy much...
i prefer dual cpu setup cause more then 1 thread is used for the server to run (all the various gates and sql). in that case u will get a huge performance boost even without the programs code optimized for dual cpu.
Olymp Server specs:
Athlon XP 2000+ (ASUS Board)
768 MB DDR RAM
Windows 2003 Server
T1 internet connection @about 1.5MBit down/upload
server is running fine (no lag, normal mob speeds) no matter how many players on (max players at once was 51) for about 2-3 days
after that server needs reboot...
ye Olymp server had similar probs in the past 2..i advice all server Owners to protect their server pc's thoroughly..there r always some jealous/grief peeps or just busy hackers who tries themselfes out on easy targets hehe
though that crashing gates may not due to hacker attacks but as iamdeath...
ye thats right but its still just a matter of db settings so u only need an uptodate db to view all the new items of the 2004 client (2003 and 2004 server.exe arnt that different in these things)
to find the 2004 serverfiles just do a search here if i remeber right some links r posted here or at...
u will need about 3 GB free diskspace to install...after that u need patches for the client to play on private ei server
ull find all patches for Olymp server here: www.ei.olymp-server.da.ru
latest Olymp updates include all that is currently available for private server (new sabuk areas, ancient lands/shiwa, new desert areas - numa stuff)
