Im not quite sure im following you here, but either way remember that 'real mir' has totally different server files, sound files and client than what we use. Mayb its that, I dont know - just an educatedc guess. :)

P.S. Post questions in the Mir II ~ Server Help forum next time. ;)

Re-read: Your looking in the right file. Sounds.lst is the correct file for all allocated sounds. Im still guessing this is becoz 'rea mir' has sound updates and the client & server files are different.

Sounds are client side rather than server side. U dont have any sound files in the server folder that i no of. What program are u using to open the sound.lst? Im not sure if its even possible to change what sounds the weapons make.

it is client side for changing weapon sounds. i did it ages ago on mir even before it came out of beta. but i cant recall what i changed, i know i had my dragon sword making the same sound as a mace. it mite have been i just went through the wav files untill i found the one for dragon sword and mace and just changed the numbers. but its been so long ago ive never bothered since just use the sounds thats there. this mite not be the solution you looking for but if all you wanting to do is change your own sounds and not those of the whole community it worth looking into.

i can remember reading somwhere that you cannot change the sound that a weapon makes just the sound a mob makes ..

If you add new weapons they make the sound of a pickaxe .....

I'm sure thats what i read but feel free to correct me if im wrong.

juat been messing around with client weapon sounds and you can if you want create your own sounds. just replace the old one say in your case 57.wav with your own but make sure you rename new sound to the weapon its supposed to be. so basicaly if soulsabre is ???.wav create your own sound call it ???.wav and either back up old file or overwite it.

U can't make new weapons sounds, u can only change them
Easiest way to do it its to get the sound file and replace it with the file tht makes a noise..
o_O Even i can't understand tht..

Example:
80.wav = WoodenStick Sound (Its an example, not real btw :P)
So, get the file u want to replace it with.. lets say DSS sound
1.Wav = DSS
So, copy and paste 1.wav and overwrite 80.wav
Done, now a woodenstick sounds like a dss, however, it will only sound like a dss 2 u, and no-one else.
Hope tht made sense :)
