Hi,

I was just wondering why this has such a tiny range? It's of limited use anyways in caves where we have no large Mir 3-style maps, but would be useful anywhere outside.

Also as a Tao I like being able to keep track of where my pets are.. it's odd that when they come within range they're red on the minimap for a split second, then become white. I'd rather they stay the old Mir green, same as group members. Makes sorting the minimap easier, especially since the dots are smaller than they were in M2.

Thoughts? Or could Sam/BH tell me why they implemented it the way they did?

I thought they were blue?

Also the minimap is scaled out further than traditional Mir, I can scale it back in but this would just give you a smaller vision of the minimap.

No, MM size is fine, but I distinctly recall being able to see group members at the edge of it in M2 and anywhere on the visible (large/small) minimap in M3.

Did you scale up the minimap's view range, but leave the group/summon detection radius the same? If so, would you consider increasing them to match the increased view range?

Real men wear vests and don't use mini maps.
I don't understand what you want. As a tao you can rest your pets and remember where they are or you can call your pets to you so you know where they are.
I thought wizards would be askin for this not taos.
The mini map is annoying anyway because it doesn't seem to relate that well to the game. You can hear the mob see the red dot but workin out where it is under the trees in the the annoying dark this version has is a pain in the neck. May as well just run round in circles.

Come to think of it, maybe you should scale it back to normal. The way I see it the only benefit it has as it is is being able to see cave entrances and terrain from slightly farther away at the expense of mob/grp dots being much smaller and more densely packed (and, frankly, uglier). Default Mir2 minimap with the enlarged version or default Mir3 map (my first choice, personally) would be better imo.

Wouldnt mind haveing a full screen map option aside from the no map caves of course.
I think everyone now knows the layouts or just dives onto the apex guide.
then have your group displayed regardless of distance on the large map but you cant move while map is on full size.

Believe this in our bug notes, there actual range of see'ing the dots is like half the range of the minimap. In essence players towards the edge of the minimap don't show up, which makes it kind of useless.

Exactly. We have 4x the old minimap (at least), but can still only see as if someone shrunk the old minimap's icon overlays to 1/4 size and put it in the middle of the new, larger one. Not particularly useful.
