AVG Virus Scan

Anyone know why my AVG seems to bring this mir up as a meduim threat level virus?. Should I just allow through or attempt to switch off ?.

anti virus programs always throw up false alarms, thats why I never use them. It's better to be smart, and avoid viruses all together. Then you don't need annoying anti virus programs installed.

I only installed due to getting a bluescreen of death the other day, something I've barely ever had, So wanted to be safe than sorry.
Dunno if my comps maybe on the way out.

well, for the record, its very unlikely for a virus to be the cause of a blue screen. they usually do more malicious things than that.

If you have a router between your computer, and the internet, then you're firewalled against incoming viruses that would otherwise plant themselves on your computer without you knowing.
All you have to do is make sure you dont visit any dodgy websites, or download dodgy files, and you're safe.

Dunno much about pcs etc tbh. Was something I aint had in years, So my first thought was virus or something along them lines.
But I've just unistalled AVG so it stops flagging mir.

just add it to AVG as an exception.

Its fine unistalled it anyway gets in the way when it randomly comes up etc.

Just so you know all virus scanners will throw up the The.. something trojan from the mir files, it's the crack the files use, and is indeed a false positive, if you find anything else it may well be a virus.

Thanks zelda. Yeah I think I had similar problem many years ago, but never had since.

Its gone now and shall not be mist .
