maybe taking a flinch then casting grants you that 1 seconds (no flinch) bonus to get the spell off.
If you take damage but don't flinch it seems to carry on casting. I think that is a nice addition as a wiz can maybe try and time a flinch before casting now aswell.

the damage doesn't start after 6 secs though does it. if you get an extra second of cast/damage thats a good thing no?
I was pointing out a positive.
