Changes to Runes

The recent changes to Runes is a little unfair on the newer players.

We can no longer put 2 or 3 of the same rune on an item, but some people have already done this.

This means their gear is now godly and there is no possibility of people catching up in certain cases.

This will either need to be reverted back or existing items with multiple of the same Runes modified.

^^ Agree. This is unfair. Also along with the hundreds of PLAT ore the cheats (JustinBieber and yes I went there) have got in store and n00b chars.

It's unfair.

Now theres no special repair people wont use them so much, even the people that will use them, the dura will die off pretty quick.

Nothing puts me off playing than this, when you get some early pple get advantage and then its 'disabled' but pple keep the rewards. Same **** like on official servers (euro and usa, the later mainly when pple exploited easy rates on boxes and got tons of rares out of them).

Looks like smart alecks are bending this mir over, having grand time, like always wherever I played in past, I feel so stupid being on the same boat with them.

Agree disabling things that give advantages without removing the advantage is really annoyin. This is the kind of thing that beta is for. Why werent the regular exploiters of the mineral mine buff stack mistake all have a level or 2 taken off them. One level for exploiting another for not reporting it.
WHy dont the items changed by runes have duras halved.
Thing about added stats is that it can make people overpowered and the game too easy(like USA) unless the team know how to balance it all. The "euro feel" that people want is because it was harder and it was better to hunt in a group.
Yes it was all new and players know the game better now but why make it easier for them?

Things being easy is one of the reasons I personally stopped playing Mir. When it turns to being easy and knowing what to do to achieve something and the added meat that "ok I need to do this X amount of times and I'll level", repeat, repeat.

As an example, it took a little under 2 hours to take a wiz from 35 to 36 the other week, solo. A little longer to go 37, and then 38, blah blah. But it's too repetitive for myself. At the same time I seen players in the same area using guards as opposed to skills a wiz has to gain the massive exp.

Just seen the fox boss kill and it's the cleanest screenie of that area I've seen. I couldn't see any other dead mobs around.

Having said that, they need to be tested, but it doesn't bode well for those coming after when there's no wipe.

Right. So all the exploiting had it easy players keep their advantage. Puts me off bothering
I suggest for every new server, put a cap on the levelling at say 33 and until 60% of user count is 33 then make it 39 and so on.
I am fed up of the same handful of players geeking biking it in the first few weeks finding the exploits getting advantages then trying to make out they are elite. Often these early high chars change owners after a while too.

^^ Agree. I wish you were made a GM. Maybe even implement that now. With a cap at level 50. Give it a few months for people to catch up and even the odds. Then cap again at lvl 55 etc. Good thinking. I cannot fault this idea... **Awaits those "handful of players geeking it up" to flame me for saying this**

p.s did Justin Bieber get banned?? haha.

Im sorry but got to disagree. The game rewards players who put in more hours geeking it - it always has done and always will do (I do not geek lvling, infact im a terrible lvler). Its a terrible idea.

Are you replying to the original point of the thread RobJ?

Even if I put 2 million hours into it, I cannot achieve the same result because they have changed runes now.

Therefore, some people have a major advantage due to having overpowered items that can no longer be created.

I was replying to terriblen, who seems to be having a nice moan all around the forum about how everything is so unfair. The server is still growing and learning, and of course, there will be parts of the game where people who have played earlier have gained an advantage and then things changed after. Hell, Ive missed out on quite a lot myself only starting around a month after launch, but thats my fault for not getting in on the action earlier. I see people walking round with high stat rings from the mining days which I cant get, but who cares, it is what it is.

At the end of the day, the server is free to play, does not take any donations, has a good community and is still growing and is extremely enjoyable. People need to just appreciate the hard work the owners have put (and are still putting) into this server and be gratefull for what is, which is (in my opinion) the best private server around. They are on top of issues as soon as they find out about them, and are doing the best job they possibly can. Unfortunately, not everyone always sees it this way and there will always be people who think they should be doing more, but maybe if these people got in game and worked a little harder on getting better items then they wouldnt have much to moan about.

I'm also in agreement with Jek, we are new players joining the server who no longer have the ability to make these insane items (Slotted items with 2/3 SC/MC/DC gems in them) due to the changes.

Should these items not have the additional runes removed if the system no longer works that way.

.

I agree. If you think it's unfair - don't play. I'm sure if you spend the necessary time leveling and hunting bosses you'd get some pretty awesome gear too.

Personally, I can see both sides of the argument. Of course its unfair on players that started later, as is the case with most aspects of MMORPGs, but wouldn't it be unfair on the owners of these items, if hard earned gold and time spent lvling to wear these items was just removed from the game? Sitting on the fance, I would agree and accept either outcome regarding runes.

It might be a right pain in the arse, but could items be remade and given back to players along with runes to be re-applied to items?
Probably not, just a thought.
