To clear this all up, whoever thought up this idea should ream themselves with a goat ****.
The VC++ Server source is actually a Mir2:Ei server, as you will notice in both program's sources, they merely ported the delphi code to VC++.
Anyone with competent VC++ and the help of a mir professional could sort out the mir2:ei client sources very quickly, and probably turn it into mir2 1.8+ easily, too.
Yes, Viola is right, you can't overwrite that which is not there, and Reshacking only lets you edit a relatively small part of the executable.

For the record, there were mir 1.3 server files, and afaik, they worked just like the mir 1.4 ones, except with the various additions mir 1.4 brought.
