Just dinged to 28 as a hunter and got decent kit, just going to put a few things forward:
Pets
Hunters First pet (Cat) - good!
Great single target and dies quick enough for it to only be useful certain times
Second pet (White Tiger) - Bad
Its shite, I have never needed to use this, you are range so dont need the healing (unless you are dogshite at kiting)
its single target is worse then the cat, and its hp pool is on par with a hen (obviously exaggerating)
-possibly give him an aggressive utility or a buff to the hunter (such as while hes out you get a small mc /dc/ac buff or whatever)
Third Pet (Wolf) - OK
Hes tanky enough and his DPS isn't bad, but his 'aoe' attack is somewhat dire from what I have seen.
General
I understand we get a pet that tanks for us, but I really feel we pull aggro way to quickly off out pets - even without using delayed poison
we don't have the aoe clear a wiz has but at the moment we still need to run around like a lunatic rather than our pet holding our target in place (or at least trying)
Possibly check the aggro with monsters/hunters/pets so pets hold aggro a little more (especially single target)
again I know we get a hog later on, but hes for mass pulling as well.
Delayed Explosion
Change how this is processed so it doesn't auto pull aggro possibly?
as soon as you cast it, in comes the mob, as soon as it procs the second time, you immediately pull aggro again (even with group mode on mental state - level 2)
BackStep
I have never seen a practical use for this to date, you jump back a step, then the animation repeats, and it almost feels like you are lagging when you cast it. Possibly make this drop some of your threat on a monster other than back stepping, anything faster than a deer catches back up to you by the time the animations have finished
(it is level 0 but i can't bare to level it, 1900 exp and can't use inside SZ and it has to be successful)
Meditate
What the devil does this do? I have it level 3, i get cool swirly things around me, the only way I can get it off me is using delayed explosion, but it doesn't seem to make any difference to the spells damage or effect.
Explosive Trap
Still not used this, the cast delay reduces your dps way too much in a cycle for it to ever really be effective without it being OP by itself.
It doesn't really have a purpose, possibly change it from rather than a dps to a snare, a mob passes through it and it has a chance to be slowed - it wouldnt impact PvP as people can see the damn things
Overall I feel the class is lacking something; its single target isn't great and its aoe is bad.
they are ok to play, and aren't terrible in terms of what they can do but currently the class doesn't seem to have a unique flare
(what I mean is, sins single target , war will be gods late game (god bless you guys for grinding your early levels), wizzies mass lurers/levelers, Taos healer/buff debuffer/summoner/healer etc)
