Similar to the Diablo3 feature. Pretty much an exact copy to be fair... :lol
Perhaps using the Node skins from PB, random spawns similar to Legendary monster spawns.
Killing a shrine gives the player a buff for X amount of time.
The buffs could cover a multitude of STATS and BUFFS. e.g.
+3 Holy for X minutes [Holy Shrine]
15% Experience for X minutes [Experience Shrine]
+3 Agility for X minutes [Agility Shrine]
50% increased damage to mobs within that dungeon [Destroyer Shrine]
Swift Feet buff (Increased movement speed) for ANY class for 2 minutes [Swift Shrine]
Decreased damage taken from mobs within that dungeon [Protect Shrine]
Could could have the level of the Shrine influence the level of buffs you'd be given.
Level 1 - 2 minutes
...
Level 3 - 6 minutes
...
Level 7 - 15 minutes
The could be announced server wide, but perhaps its a nice surprise if they aren't.
Just adds another fun feature for players exploring maps.
