Laptop for Mir

Hi All

I have recently started a new job which allows me the fortune of playing Mir whilst at work, however I will need a laptop to do so as I cannot rightly take my PC to work every night so... i've been having a look about and saw this one on Scan earlier

Just wondering in the eyes of those tweakers and people who get the best fps/speed etc in Mir whether this will be up to the task? I don't really wanna spend a great deal more than this and it seems like a good spec for the price.

You can get same specs for alot cheaper.

btw dont get it if it has nvidia optimus it'll ignore your vidcard on mir

I can? Need to look harder then, any suggestions for a laptop <£800 would be superb. Don't all of Nvidias laptop gfx cards use Optimus as standard?

Nothing exciting left my old job to relocate with family so working security for a family on permanent nights now until I get our house refit finished and find something else.

I paid $300 for current lappy and it's a beast. Imo lappy gfs on any card besides quadro will switch to onboard and ruin your life.

Very satisfied with 60 fps locked for cheeeep

pay the extra bit for shipping and youll have the same thing i have. All you'll need is a power converter or localized ac adapter. I just know what to look for and i'll easily sacrafice looks for performance. Mine was a rare faster cpu also came with a 9cell extended batt, removable twin 256gb raid 0 ssd's with windows 10 and a display port to hdmi cable but it may have been stolen. who knows who cares, thanks craiglist.

Cheers I'll have a look shortly. On another note why is it that on board gfx becomes a problem for Mir? I don't get why it would ever use the on board chip when the laptop has a dedicated gfx card

disagree massively, i've tried it on a bog standard laptop thats like 2 years old and it gets utterly demolished by mir

been reading up on nvidia Optimus and it appears to have a list program's can be added to to make them use the nvidia gfx card, will this not work for Mir or does it force use the on board gfx?
