Using the existing mir2 source code to recreate mir is a lot easier than it sounds.
The problem is people are trying to fix the server code, I would go as far as saying it’s not fixable.
There are too many problems, badly designed code etc..
Far easier to rewrite the source, using the existing source code as a reference for something’s, but not to blindly copy everything from the existing source as a lot of things have to be done in completely different ways.
I got quite far with recreating it, but I started a new job, so have little time to still work on it.
Incase your wondering the last version had, most basic things from mir, spawnable mobs, mob AI, guilds, groups, special items, attack modes, pets, magic (only LionRoar and ShoulderDash missing), special effects (poison).
There was one nasty problem, I believe mir 3 euro is experiencing it as well (not as badly as I was tho), the sticky feet bug.
Because of that, I started to rewrite many bits, so at this moment in time, I do not have a working copy.
There was a nice couple of screenshots with me, Unity, and Witten in-game, floating around, incase you think im full of bull-****.
