I have put some math questions for yas see if ya good enuff.. lol its like back in school :D

Q1. A coil has an effective length of 14m. What Will be the resistanceof the coil if its area is 0.5mm² and its resistivity is 1.67x10 to the power of -8 ohms?

Q2. If the lenght of a conductor doubles and the area doubles, what will happen to the resistance?

Q3. If the lenght of a conductor halves and the area dubbles, by how many times will the resistance increase or decrease?

Q4 A coil is made up of 12000 turns of copper wire. the lenght per turn is 120mm, and the area is 0.275mm². Calculate the resistanceof the coil if the resistivity is 1.67 x 10 to the power of -8.

Q5. The light in a car park is suplied via a cable 85m long. The area of the cable is 4mm². Calculate the resistance of the cable if the resistivity is 1.67x 10 to the power of -8 ohms.

SHOW WORKING OUT!! :

ILL GIVE ANSWERS AT END! :ppunk:

P.S i bet ya cant do them :D

duno :O!

Q2. If the lenght of a conductor doubles and the area doubles, what will happen to the resistance?

less resistance cus thers more area

Q3. If the lenght of a conductor halves and the area dubbles, by how many times will the resistance increase or decrease?

resistance will decrease but how do u no how much it decreases if you dont know the origional value?

Q4 A coil is made up of 12000 turns of copper wire. the lenght per turn is 120mm, and the area is 0.275mm². Calculate the resistanceof the coil if the resistivity is 1.67 x 10 to the power of -8.

wtf? to hard! :p

Q5. The light in a car park is suplied via a cable 85m long. The area of the cable is 4mm². Calculate the resistance of the cable if the resistivity is 1.67x 10 to the power of -8 ohms.

WTF! i aint even guna try

u9l3b1.gif

1.67x10^-8 x 12000x120mm / 0.275 = 0.08744...

but i did get a U at phsics a level so im not holding out hope

Edit:

Q1. A coil has an effective length of 14m. What Will be the resistanceof the coil if its area is 0.5mm² and its resistivity is 1.67x10 to the power of -8 ohms?

R = 1.67x10^-8 x 14000/0.5 = 0.0004676

what an evil answer , gotta be wrong

R = p x L/A

p x 85000/4 = 0.000354875

Q1= 1.67x10 to power ov -8 x 14m / 0.5mm² x10 to power ov -6 = 4.676 (dunno if right)

Q2= Stay the same!

Q3 Times 1 increase because if half'd the length, resistance = x1 decrease but if dubbled the area which is +2X more which will = to 1x increase.

Q4= YOU HLP ME DO IT :D

Q5= 1.67x10 to power ov -8 x 85m / 4mm² X 10 power ov -6 = 0.354875, ROUNDED = 0.36ohms

Shouldn't that be rounded down to 0.35ohms?

0.354875, ROUNDED = 0.36ohms

Uh, that looks awful like a 4 to me, which if i recall is less than 5? thus 0.35 is what it should be. Dont call people stupid when your the one who is wrong....

Edit: My calculator agrees with me.

:S i probly be wrong but 0.354875 should go to 0.36 cause the 8 b4 the 4 makes it a 5

Oh god, another dumb one. Look at the number you put Spria.

0.354875

Anything below 5 is rounded down
5 or above is rounded up.

The 4 is before the 8, clearly saying that it will be rounded down to 0.35.

The 8 doesn't come into the equation.
