id like a different way to take sw on my serv. but tbh i cant think of much.

from mir2 we've had the click an npc and wait inside whilst keeping everyone out.

from mir3 we've had the stand by the flag, click the flag, make sure no one else clicks the flag.

i do like the mir3 way. its simple, yet requires work to keep the flag. the problem i have is i dont to much fancy having that central flag monument inside my wall, it just makes the whole area look unpeaceful if you know what i mean.

anyway. im wondering if anyone has a better idea for taking the wall?

please throw all your ideas at me, even if their not possible. i have reconstucted the official and original inside of sw castle (took me bloody ages), so anything you want inside is still possible.

im hoping to see some imaginative and original ideas from people :).

Have multiple stages to the war. The map would be split into say 9 different areas (3 * 3), with each area having it's own 'flag' (or some notable feature worth capturing. Once the attacking guild(s) have taken over atleast 7 of the areas they gain control of the wall. But here's the twist - the war doesn't end until all 9 of the areas have been captured, so it's still possible for the defending guild to take back control of the wall.

This reminds me you know of 2.9 Mir3 Server, if you recall it had a few problems in taking the wall, so a server owner (me) had to come up with some alternative ideas. Now what I did back then was simple enough:

There is 3 Statues (these were my walls - were Stone Lions) and before the war you could not kill or even harm them in any way possible (to stop people killing you Statues for the hell of it like). Anyhoo - once a war starts, the attacking guild hd to get in the Caslte to start with, then kill these 3 Uber feking hard Statues and only then could they Walk into the said Palace (the door way was were the statues were if you see what I mean) and stand in that room to KEEP the wall. When the defending guild came in, they had to kill all people inside to "get back the wall" and so forth. War lasted a Full 3 Hours - none of this 15 min crap :)

Hmm what would be totaly badass is 2 identical castles on one map with a middle area and at the top of each castle is a flag and you go run and capture the flag and bring back to your base. People would have to defend flag and make offensives. Doubt it's possible =-(

we just experimenting with some modifications on the siegesystems in TaoSung on Olymp
we included a timedelay for flagchanges so attackers must hold the positions to gain control of the flag..this worked out quite well on last TaoSung war on Olymp

thats easily possible to do. but 2 things come to mind.

1. alot of map editing would have to take place, and with this buggy edit its not easily possible.
2. with 2 castles, both guilds wld own a castle each, and so i wldnt see the point in taking the second?


i like your idea soli. the problem i have is with the 9 areas, the guild owning sw wld have to own the 9 areas, and so insidently would 'own' most of the whole province.

would you think it would still work if 9 areas were 'neutral', and the 10th area being the castle. each side starting off before the war claiming as many areas as they can (say they have 5 minutes to capture as many flags as possible, and during the time the flag cannot be recaptured).
then afta this time, the war starts. the the attacking side has to capture the rest of the flags.

meh i duno. reasonable idea or not?

Farril it would be more of like a comptetition that the winning guild would get a prize maybe own some other wall if they won just speculating as that would be fun.
