Problem with 2.3

Hi, Ive just decided to downloads TD's files as ive heard they are good.
I was going to use them for offline use.

I've followed instructions,
So far i have:

Downloaded & installed MySql + Navicat.

Set and id and password, give the port 3306 or something, made it 'local host' and pressed ok.
I dont have a clue what in doing with mysql 2000, when i run the 'smssql.exe', it opens with adobe reader then gives me some weird error.

I decided to leave it, changed all ips and names to 127.0.0.1 and ktest.
Run m2server, followed by the other gates.

Copyd 'Map' folder from p69 into m2server as instructed.
then copyd the 'mir2.exe' from the m2server folder,
pasted it into p69 folder and copyd other the exe
changed all ips
'Connection Closed'
Then i get this error on m2server:

Its my first attempt making a server so, be easy with the words :P
Any ideas?

you need to restore the database in sql and run the server manager

for TD's files you have to use MSSQL not MySQL

Where do i download mssql?
how do i restore ?
whats server manager? lol

type MSSQL server 2000 in google or summet,find it,(the 1 that protects against the slammer worm by microsoft)

they are loads of guides btw just look around lomcn or ragezone

Okay, Ive managed to install mssql + link paths up + get dbs working etc.
I can now access the server without 'connection closed'
can make an account,
But i cannot make a character, ive been through all my ips, paths, server names in every single ini and i cant find a single wrong thing. DBServer keeps saying 'Not Ready' on the top, when everything is correct. But the m2server is saying

make sure ALL of ur gates are up,rungate(gamegate),login serv,login gate etc,post a screenie if ur still avin problems
