Right, i used to play mir3 back in beta (when gelu n ignis wer the servers).

Im new to all this server business (i did one for helbreath and played some...) but im totaly lost when it comes to mir3 servers. What do i do? i have got mir3 installed(the client i used is called mir3full_11, but as i havnt gone into it yet, im lost as to what it is). Now how do i install a new server (olymp etc)

and what is 3g and all the other varients to it? im so lost with all this...

Edit; i think i have the mir3 europe, as when it went to patch, it sez mir3europe.com
now im guessing i have 3g? but i still dunno =/ any help is appreciated

Hey there guys, i wud like to know sumthing about making a server too, im planning to try make one for all the ppl on mir3 USA who dont want to pay when it goes p2p. I have the USA mir3 on my pc; but no idea what to do with it. At all. I dont wanna hook it up so other ppl can play it yet; i want to know how to construct an offline server. How to START creating a server. I cant find any guides for that kinda thing, even tho i have looked. Thx for any help Somebody Else

Holy Smoke - from installing a client to wanting to run a server - Phew!!

Progression of Mir for all your "New" people:

Evil Illusions - this was server file 2.9 and used a Beta client
Judgement of Blood - Large maps as above, more stuff added.
Prelude to War - What Euromir3 are now running, new interface, new maps (smaller) and more magic.

Trust when I say this - Its not a simple point and click affair to installing a server, it requires 6 programs (gates) all set up correctly and a Microsft SQL Server to Store all your Data - how else would it happen to know what level you are etc?? Your gonna need a Seperate machine with 1 GIG ram and a Beefy Processor. If you look around here there is def 100% enough information to get you on the road to making a server - personally I would give up now cos you got a Hell of a Lot of Translating to do from chinese to English and no - it wont be handed to you on a plate

Ok, sorry lol but im doing this to host a server for ppl i know, we mite have sum1 who has a dedicated server and mite let us use it, but we dunno... anyway, do i start with everything in the sticky thread then go from there... so:

1. download kingnf1.1 files and cruel dragon patch, place into C:\mirserver
2. follow instructions in server setup guide
3. translate game text? is it basically that all the game text is written in chinese, and just needs changing to english? in fact i think i just answered this by lookin wif search and the answer is yes, but just for confirmation...
4. Then i can start editing the DB's to change mobs, places, items etc.
5??. Hang on, im a lil confused about client types and what server files they use, etc. I think the kingnf server files use a 3G client?(see question below)

I admit I'm a complete n00b but everyone has to start somewhere :P pls, if im wrong can u post corrections? ty

one question; are the mir3 USA files 3G?

mir3 usa is similar to mir3 euro... and it has that stupid gameguard too.. so good luck.

those clients allow you to play on kingnf1.1

if you go with other server files, then you will need another big download somewhere...

cruel dragon isnt a patch exactly, you can use it instead of kingnf. but id advise not to, its quite buggy if you dont know what your doing.

WHY is King Still on here? the 10 user, 70 user and unlimited has a Net.Theif Trojan!!! If you have enough protection on your PC it wont even run at all (wont on mine any more)..

Stick with Cruel Dragon for now, it has some bugs but nothing to loose sleep over..

You gonna need MS-SQL - So get search on Torrents for MS SQL Developers Edition as this is only one (bar the Trail) which will run on WIndows XP for example.

kings on here quad coz crueld doesnt work fully. and if people arnt bothered about putting a serv online then 10 user max is fine.

the 10 user (standard exe), doesnt have any virus from what i saw, its the 70 user which has it, and i havnt given the link to that.

well i am pretty bothered about having quite a few ppl on it, because im doing it for quite a few people... so ill use the crueld version then, and erm, ask what the bugs are :P

I've had a quicik look for SQL torrents but cant find any, but ill have a more thorough look for torrents when the free trial ends, Four months aint too bad But anyway, ive found a download, just want to check that its the right one... That its SQL Server Evaluation Edition Release A?

And also nobody has answered the above question... Are those 4 steps i said correct? (or the right way to go about this?)

apparently purfication doesnt work, hp potions dont, and a few other small bugs. they can all be fixed, you just need to know what your doing really.

and yeh the steps you said were right. and it uses any official updated mir3 client. (korean/euro/us)

Hp pots dont work?? :S And since i dont know what im doing they will stay unfixed for the time being :P Ill have to learn what im doing then fix it.
