Server Trouble Help Please

Hey am creating my own server at the minute and when i Try to open the program "M2server" It brings up =

M2Server.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I have no idea what is going on With it It just dosent seem to open .... Could somebody please help me ?

Download tht and then disable it then close it then run server shud work

im presuming your running windows XP do these steps.

1- click start->run
2- type in msconfig
3- goto the Services Tap
4- Find SSDP Discovery Service
5- Click it so no tick is in the box
6- Click Ok and restart.


I dont know what Doaky thing is :/ might do the same thing, but i prefer to do stuff myself so i know its safe :P

When you Download the armours ect : What then do you do with the files ?

Put them in your client files then set them up in your db.

Right the files you download go into your client side, as in the files u use to play MIR.

There is a file, or post somewhere that tells u the looks etc values for the item, u put these into your database (stditems) and this is what makes them show up properly.

In order for others to see it correctly you need to make sure every player on your server uses the same client files you have.

and use the number in the shape field of te DB

No, DB Commander, you open STDItems.db and then in the shape coloumbn put the numbers in the txt file

Where do You find this STDItems.db please?

when you double click the DB commander program (usually shortcut on the desktop) you will have a little folder icon on the top left side, called open ....

click that then if it is not already in the correct location you need to browse to your server directory (usually c:\M2Sever) then look in the mud2 folder then DB folder

the STDitems.db file should be in there

once you open the Database up scroll down till you find GMarmour and change the shape number to 28, i cant remember the looks number for the gold winged armour off hand but its summat like 920 ?

you need to change both the shape 28 and the looks xxx so it appears the same when you wear it and when you have it in your bag.
