sudden 'dont send errors'

well when i start opening certain programmes now they just crash with the xps 'dont send error report'. quite strange as i havent made any changes or added anything new and suddenly msn messnger wont open for me. also i keep getting 'low virtual memory' errors when i try and install and unistall prgrammes. increased page file sizes...that hasnt done much, ran an adware scan. not sure wat else 2 do???? also done system restores but msn still doesnt work in them even tho it did before. its a packard bell laptop so i cant really add more ram to it. any help would be appreciated.

Well im not an expert on this subject although ive had this problem before and it turned out to be a problem in my .net framework. Also check for any virus's or buy a virus scanner if you havent got one (I would be suprised if you didnt) Dont use free ones. Otherwise im not sure you must be using most of your ram up with something.

AVG is free, and there is nothing wrong with it, as a matter of fact, it's one of the best around.

You can also download windows defender from www.microsoft.com which is so far the best anti spyware tool i and plenty of other people have used.

True, but usually plenty of sites mirror the downloads. I think even download.com offers mirrored downloads for microsoft.

well well well, was using norton and the scan picked up nothing (my n00bness 4 using norton!) scanned with the virus scanner recomeneded and it seems im infected by a win32 parite...which just takes up memory etc....usin bit deffender 2 try n remove it now. thanks 4 ur help

i wouldnt use norton its big fat and ugly it fills your pc with loads of its stuff tricks you into thinking its protecting your pc but really its just slowng it down as i have found in both 05 and 06 versions get rid of it and get avg ftw

Its free but it lacks the extra options that programs like Norton 2006 do.

e.g. Spyware removal, Scans the hole comp insted of just the main files,firewall,

just AVG takes up a lot less memory resources so thats why people with average computers use it.

Picked up 20 virus/spyware on my computer, AVG found nothing - both with full updates on them. It doesent slow your comp down at all... if it does disable the Internet Worm Protection and your back on track. I thought that was fairly ovious.

Also i had a trojan when i had AVG before and it couldent get rid of it because it was in a system file, It may be fixed now but in my opinion i wouldent trust AVG on any of the computers in the house. Then again every one else can try and see what they like best.

If you have a router with a firewall then all you need on your computer is anti-virus and antispyware, with anti-spyware being optional. Yes, optional. I never get **** with mozilla and I don't go downloading the .exe popups on porn sites.

If there's a difference in games there's a difference in performance in general.

Well, by definition almost any soho rotuer you buy is going to have NAT, but no, not all routers have NAT, and there's quite a few that don't have a built in firewall, business class that is.
