Hi! First and foremost I'd like to apologize should I make any grammar mistakes or I come out as rude because english is not my native language.

I've hardly played Mir 2 before so I consider myself as clueless when it comes to this version but I can't help but notice the high amount of CC (crowd control, movement impairment, you call it) there is on the server.

Purple Poison(Slow) - Slows monster and player movement speed by 25%
Blue Poison(Frozen) - Player or monster can not attack move or cast spells
Grey Poison(Para) - Player or monster can not attack move or cast spells

Twin Drake Blade a core spell of the warrior will ignore AC on 2nd hit and when yellow poisoned enemies will receive 20% extra damage. They will not be "stunned" and will still hit you, it will also silence spell casting for the duration.

Is it just me or the wording is kind of poor? maybe my english knowledge is a bit lacking but I can't fully understand the interaction between Twin Drake Blade and yellow poison. Would love it if someone would clear it out for me.

The Frozen Hammer, a new big burst style damage attack with a chance to slow your opponent hitting up to 2.4x your DC. This gives the Warrior a great chase potential against those ranged classes.

These are the more glaring ones to me (I left out some obvious ones that are native to the game which I have no problem with)

I enjoy PvP but there's something that takes the fun away from it and that's too much CC, what happened to world of warcraft is a clear example and I can't help but worry about the amount of slows, freeze and silence effects, specially because I'm mostly a Wizard player and as far as I can see every class has plenty tools to shut me down which would make the PvP experience very unejoyable to me.

My worries are based on a post, I didn't have the chance to play the game so maybe I'm making a big deal out of nothing but I would like to know if this much CC will negatively affect the game as in...

- Can I be stunlocked or CCed repeatedly?
- Is there any diminishing return to these effects?
- What's the average duration of CC effects?
- How often will players be able to cast these CCs?

I apologize if there's an answer to these questions but I wasn't able to find them.

Frozen debuff happens very rarely like on most servers + Freeze gems don't exist in the game, you can only find this stat on a handful of gear at +1 and I think you can find it on extremely rare chance naturally added as a +1.
Frozen earth and Frost Crunch as far as i'm aware are the only abilities from players so far that debuff players like this.

Slow debuff is from certain abilities or very rarely an add (of no higher than +1) on weapons and accessories, Skills are Curse & frost crunch (very successful) and Blizzard (semi successful) and new Warrior ability Frozen Hammer (semi success).

Para is from Sins ability cripple, and is extremely rare to land!

All cd's on from Warrior's/Sins are on a "decent" cd, Wizards are free to spam in comparison.

Yes you can get unlucky locked if multiple people have focused you, try spamming your mobility to get out, Wizards can Blink on practically no CD.
Average duration of cc's is 2 sec, regular slows the same but Tao get added duration, slow at the minute just makes you slow and has no effect on attack or casting speed!

Point i'm trying to make is it is very difficult for a warrior/sin to itemize to cc, you would be very unlucky to get locked down even if gang banged, Classes are more versatile than before but they aren't hitting as hard on normal servers, gameplay is smooth and in general pvp is a much more skillful affair (most beta testers were happy about balance of the server after beta testing).

Kori can bash wizard, he is free to give his opinion, if you want my opinion, LOM's best class has always been wiz, they always casted 1 type of shield, they hide behind their FW's and unless your itemized to the teeth in servers that allow so much freeze/attack speed/slow gem stacking and weapon refining, then you are practically never going to take a good wizard down because they are THAT TANKY. They solo'd everywhere, they clear rooms at the same rate as a handful of very active melee's and they don't get punished for it, because server populations are too low to give them the punishment they need.
Valk's server is splitting shields and making wizards be able to blink indefinetly until the mana costs get crazy (blink and stormescape on here), this is a healthy attempt to make wizards interact more with players instead of torching themselves in safety, and looking and being a part of the beta on later skills wizards will have, wizards are going to be slightly more rewarded for playing well, but ye, not a piece of cake anymore.

Btw, Valk has added in brief stuns to mobs and even more damage from all lightning spells onto any undead mob, it is fantastic to watch 2 wizards easily take care of mino's and we tested ZT and if you get 3 for that you'll pretty much easily wipe the maze, he's really made thunderstorm excellent. I suggest you go Wizard if you like wizard, I hope to see everyone playing the classes they like, but i understand with the history of server owners shafting some mains, I guess it can't be helped, but Valk has done a good job, i'm confident :p

The short answer is, don't play a wizard here, you will have a bad time.

From how much information gathering did you come to that conclusion as i think Welsh-Steel has actually done a much better job of explaining the CC components rather than a sweeping stupid statement

From spending 2hours testing on beta at level 85+ with flamefield with the GM. The single most gamebreaking thing is allowing yellow poison to silence a wizard. But hey, don't worry about it.

I've made a warrior, all you need to know.
