XP.

Vista if you have 50 quad cores cpus and 100gb of ram. And still you'll be on 100% load.

i wud vote for both XP and Vista, for everyday use and MAC for the more "profestional" use.

Vist - XP are pretty much the same, u dont need a fast ass comupter to run Vista like ppl say, just disable the start up programs to the basic 17 windows needs and its fine PFU i use it roughtly 350-400 (on XP uses 150-200) and the ram it uses is reduced by 70% from the 756 to load up on start up to 328 (somethin like that ^_^).

Vista supports HD better so tbh Vista would win due to the HD performace beeing more updated.

so TBH Vista for Everyday Use
MAC's for profetionl use.

theres no comparison really

I'm currently using vista, but i must admit i prefer XP due to it's so much easier to use.

Vista keeps f**king up on updates.

1 update didn't include a 5button mouse so had to use system restore to remove the update..

I know many other people have had problems with vista aswell.

It uses too much space. And is quite frankly. Crap.

vista updates do take up alot of space. but if you install all the updates properly you shouldnt have an problems. i love vista, find it alot smoother, alot more folder friendly and organised.

only problem i have is when you have sp1 installed some of my games refuse to work.

XP

Had vista and it sucks up 20gb HD space just to install it...whats all that about?

And basically just didnt like the way it was and set out unlike XP

So wiped it off and stook with XP most stable in my eyes and easiest to use except for linux which is again even more stable

vista when i installed it, and removed what i never used, took up the whole of 7.8gig, u can move vista round to run exacly like XP, and can change it to perform like XP, Vista can be moved round so much, but is still full of bugs thats y i went bk to XP atm.
