just recievd the netgear dg834g and i need to now a persons point of help. k here goes - i connect it all up and enter my own static ip and also in tcp/ip , if my laptop is integrated wireless howdo i pick up the line with no sofware .. i didnt think wireless routers came with 2 boxs but this 1 does it comes with another small box with ethernet lead maybe to go into laptop and picks the wireless connection is that rite or do laptops pik it up anyway and how is it possible to do that ty.

I knew when I read this title it'd be a DG834G!
I've got a DG834G and if you're picking it up for the first time it's gonna be helluva hard for you to get to grips with it.
First off, don't use a static IP, the good thing about routers is that your IP stays the same until you reboots it, and I've not rebooted it for like 6months and the DG834G is good at keeping its heat output down.
Secondly, you should be able to go into Control Panel > Network Connections and run the WZC (Windows Zero Configuration) utility which should let you see the network and how to connect to it.
Or, if you disable then re-enable your wireless it should work.
