i think its an awesome idea, if the security is right, and everything is as stated above, of course id do it, no worries about hosts mum turning off the computer, 24/7 always, seems like a wicked idea.

As for the price, i think its pretty fair, a months worth of mir for 30 quid aint much, and you can always ask players for donations.

Go for it urban babes. <3

30 pound is way worth it.

If you was to buy it from another company its like 60 odd quid as mir takes up so much bandwith

Definately, urban you do realise this will require some serious cash? to get the setup and the fact that you could squeeze 3 - 4 servers onto your servers max?

Very VERY costly, but id say the outcome would be worth it.

Well with the new place that I might be moving into this summer the $50 USD Association fee includes a fiber line, which could hold maybe give or take 4 servers @ 1mbit upload each.

As for network hardware I got it all already.

When it comes to the actual servers I got $1650 saved for a new comp, which I could devert to servers.

Would cost me $2,500 USD for a full 5 server setup, kvm etc etc.

It wouldn't just be mir, I would host other games, but fps would be usa only, across the ocean for fps is a joke.

EDIT

only thing to figure out is hosting multiple servers on same router, i'm sure i can figure it out with jsut mesing with the ports and stuff.

Private servers have always been illegal, but there are still tons of them around... If he will be using a PC to host it, doubt he would have ANY probs :P

I would pay for it. $30/pounds/quid/whatever is a good price considering dedicated boxes cost $100+ plus bandwidth.
