What happens when my mentor gets level 40?

Do i get a share of the exp i've gained for him ?

Atm it seems kinda sucky - 15% drop buff in exchange for exp (i get 100 exp for boars, as opposed to 600 when not mentor)

Can i have some clarification on the reward for getting my mentor to 40.

Many thanks.

It's really not a complicated feature.

You mentor someone, you agree to give up any base experience you would have earned. You give all experience to them, permanently.

You would have earned xyz experience? So what, it's gone, forever - you chose to give it up when you decided to boost that lower lvl player.

Jamie was kind enough to give the mentor a 10% drop buff when they were acting as mentor, as an incentive. This doesn't effect the exp, or any other part of the mentoring.

(As a side note, the only reason you are getting exp is due to any experience buffs you have. You keep the experience that you would have got on top of the base exp)

If you are boosting a friend it is, you will get more done alongside another level 40 than you will solo so getting your friend up there sooner rather than later is a huge bonus.
You can also use it as a boss killer, so leave your boss killer at level 40 with the mentee close to heel for 10% better boss drops, then level a second character utilizing the 50% bonus exp from the boss camper account and away you go.

It wont be for everyone of course but it has its uses.

The whole point of the mentoring system is to give the mentored (mentee?) a boost. If you are this selfish that you are looking for something out of it, then the system isn't for you (and you even do get something out of it) Or you're not boosting the right person.

There should always be an incentive Wargod, but that's the 10% drop.
Bullshit (in my opinion obviously). The purpose of the feature is to help out the other player, and the feature is insanely OP at doing that.

You are basically arguing that you need an incentive to help someone out - you don't want to help them, don't help them. You wanna help them but not lose Exp? Group them and don't mentor. You wanna help them, but are trying to push lvl but have lots of gold? Give them some gold.

Helping is helping. It's not Jamie's job to encourage people to do that. Although he did with the 10% you are right, but it's anything but a requirement.

But the system isn't there for you, it's there for the mentee. Your part in it is to give your exp to him, as a gift. You are mentoring him/boosting him/power lvling him. The whole system is for that sole purpose.

It is very, very, very, very, very, very worth it. For the mentee. Who the system is for.

You get a token gesture in the 10% drop buff - it isn't really meant to be worth it. Not everything has to be me, me ,me is all I'm getting at.
