Macros - AFK farming

Hi there,

Just wondering whats the deal with people using macros to afk farm for crafting items / ores.
Everytime I go to serpent valley to hunt red threads for quests there seems to be a handful of wizz, afk with pets constantly clearing all the mobs.

So they are not only getting threads 24/7, but also making it harder for everyone else to get any - therefore dominating the market.

Seems kinda **** that while most players hunt and put in the hours to obtain the items needed to craft things, a select few will just make a second character and leave it collecting for them all day long.

There must be a way to stop these people using macros ?

I think it should be stoped... why should ppl put there time and effort into farming whilst players are going afk taking all your farm..

I think it should be stoped... why should ppl put there time and effort into farming whilst players are going afk taking all your farm..

That seems to be the general consensus from the majority of the server (bar the people are are guilty of doing it).

Would be nice to see GM's opinion on the matter - I don't want to have to make multiple accounts and bot for craft items 24/7 but if everyone else is making lots of gold from doing so I don't want to be the only broke ass bitch.

Maybe report the names that are botting, and im sure Jamie has looked into the botting because I haven't seen any bots since the last time I played. I literally quit because of the botting.. but now it seems to be gone.. lets hope?

There is even a guild for the afk farmers now, TheRedAfros are all chars used for afk farming.

They aint doing nothing wrong though, a macro tapping rt for them every so often.... Take 30 seconds to set up your own to tap " 1 " every minute.... Stack full 250 Rts, come back in 250 minutes. It's not botting

If Jamie would just disable RT's in both mines then the problem wouldn't be half as bad.

people with 4 or 5 wizz afk RT'ing in mines overnight are making a ridiculous amount of gold which is not good for the servers economy?

I just spent 30mins clearing both mines, 5 members from TheRedAfros, one from TGW and a char called '12345' now these are all clearly afk farming champs. I stopped them now but if they do this every night, well you can do the math.

Singod's 5 chars from TheRedAfros will earn atleast 5mill each per night.

Whilst i agree it sucks that it feels you have to do it, it aint hard to do so why not do it and be a sheep? but if it offends you so deeply then spend your play time murdering all of the afk'ers n make gold off them dropping their ores?

also as for the statement that it is bad for the economy, i think you will find that its GREAT for the economy, as the server has an over abundance of items and minimal gold with low gold sink potential, without the afk farmers gold value would inflate to the point no1 would want to teleport anywhere and TM sales would crash out. Your annoyance lies less with it being bad for the overall server economy and more with the distribution of wealth, but as with RL you cant punish people for being enterprising to make a buck, so just find your own unique way of getting a cut of the cake

In all the locations that people are using RT's Jamie could set up a pop up dialog box with some kind of a question or just a pop up that ends all rt'ing and if u don't complete it in time it will boot u. Anyone that's a regular player would respond to the dialog in an efficient time and bots would just get booted or something. would cut down on a lot of the profit the bots are making..

Im just against afk botting. its kinda a rule in all video games. botting isn't playing the game. the games meant to be played normally and server progresses normally.. with bots u got people inflating prices and buying things they otherwise wouldn't be able to for a few days to a week later.

Also my #1 solution that I use is to not buy from the bot players.
