Dirty tactics but it's not an exploit. imo though, your own fault for allowing group in this case.

I think getting salty about it and asking for an outright ban is a little ridiculous, though. He tried to PK you with underhanded tactics, lets ban the guy from the game for life? Bit much don't you think?

Yes star has used this on me many times during fight, he makes pop up on your screen even if your in a group. Its grief play really it shouldn't be allowed.

TGW use a variety of things that would be deemed as griefing or exploiting/cheating on other server. Ake has a nice bot she used in mineral mines first. Most AFK farmers just have a macro to RT every now and then - aKe's bot walks around and RT's the second her character takes damage from another player - this is more than just a macro its a bot.

Just remove the prompt box Jamie, save the Popup box abuse issue, But I can guarentee people will start moaning about them Recall PKing hence why the prompt box was introduced.

It's not cheating, it's smart. He hasn't exploited anything and plenty of people have offered solutions from this situation, learn from this and move on.

I'm not 100% certain because i click off it as fast as possible or I am dead. I think its 'would you like to group with star' he has also used the trade pop-up to try and kill me also.

I do know the @allowtrade commands but its not something I think to do every time I leave safe zone.

I'm sorry that's a stretch. By abusing the user interface he is considered smart? It isn't designed as part of the gameplay -- By using it as an advantage you are exploiting it. It doesn't have to be using a hack or cheat. I swear, since MIR's so limited when it comes to character movements people will claim just about anything as a skill to make it more interesting.

He's not abusing the user interface, it's in the game he didn't implement it he hasn't used any exterior programs to create it. Whatever is in front of him he has used, Jamie has confirmed there is commands to stop this from happening to you, so really yeah he's the smart one and your the dumb one for not using what Jamie has provided.

Ok your logic is flawed -

1 - If a pop up comes up, you have an extra task aswell as running away.
2 - The group pop up does stop your character from running
3 - He's also trade bugging people so that he can prevent them from running away
4 - YOUR STICKING UP FOR A GLITCHING / EXPLOITER, what's wrong with you?

I literally said it SHOULDN'T stop you running (ie. it shouldn't remove focus, probably should have used clear wording to avoid confusion). It does, but imo it shouldn't. The entire point I was making.

Don't give a **** about trade bugging. I literally have just your word on that, and this is not enough I'm afraid. Not that I disbelieve you, just that I don't care. We aren't talking about that, nor am I addressing his 'exploiting'. My concern is teaching you how to to easily prevent it.

It is not possible to receive a group message whilst in a group...

So I cannot be that.


I've updated the Client (Update at your own time), this will now no longer prevent you from running when you receive a pop up, please take a screenshot next time, it happens,

It's a mechanic being abused to provide an advantage in an unintended way.
That is why Jamie has changed it to allow you to continue running.

So yes, it was exploiting, exploiting poor foresight. certainly not worth a punishment but worth a fix.

Then every player in Mir is guilty of exploiting lol. Every player ever, has abused some intended mechanic of the game. It's an unrequired fix if he used the other intended mechanic and turn off allow group when he's by himself lol.

Abusing a mistake is an exploit. Abusing a games mechanic, is not.

Whether or not the mechanic is changed or adjusted by suggestion from players is irrelevant, it's not an exploit. It's cleverly using the tools of the game to give you an advantage.

Or should we go around accusing every Warrior ever for abusing the Shoulder Dash immunity? We all know it voids flinching, yet continue to abuse it because of "skill" and allows you to close gaps easier. I wonder how much ground that would cover if we all start screaming for Shoulder Dash to be interruptable.
