It does help that Jamie keeps pretty concise logs regarding the payments.

In this case it looks like hells greed worked against him though, all those payment recalls were bound to bring up red flags over at PP.

Its a tough one, because if you're not happy with the state of the game of course you're going to be tempted to charge back your money.

But if you bought a game at a retail store do they let you return it for a refund if you're not happy?

This is even more prevalent with online games which are always evolving and changing. I guess the way forward rather than snap reactions and trying to recall transactions is to open a dialogue with Jamie, rather than just trying to charge back all of your transactions and getting banned.

Damn this thread was entertaining. He got shut down in some posts with pure logic and yet ignored the posts like a hysterical girl.

Morale of the story... Don't spend four figures on a game?? lol

Hope his chargebacks weren't successful!

It is a difficult one and usually assessed by how much use you had from what you were paying for. Hells clearly made good use of the GG and sold a lot of Fresh Meat and other things to get what he wanted in game.

Because others caught him up and he was no longer Mr OP he felt hard done by. But that's no reason to just take it all back.

This is the best part about the server not being overly P2W as it shows throwing large amounts of money at the server isn't enough to guarantee you an easy face roll over your keyboard win.

Although where will I get my cheap Fresh Meat from now :'(

HA, I was right after all :D

Had a gut feeling that he will end up like this. The cries and **** are just "placed" on the plate for ya`ll to think that this is the reason why he "rage quits". In fact imho he started playing this server throwing all that money (after all he's not an arab with oil rigs in his back yard) @ Jamie, knowing from the start that after a couple of months he'll charge back. He just had/have the free time and wanted to have fun.

That's my intuition speaking btw :P

Called it as soon as selling GG items was added. I'd place a bet on it happening again frankly, because it's beyond common at this point. People play mir fairly short term and always get buyers regret. In the end this is a private server, they know Jamie can't really do much to stop it happening as it's not a real business, so it's easily done.

At least when GG was bound to your account a chargeback didn't completely **** with the economy of the game.

You can't charge back on Jamie's servers, I tried with Marble when Charms were introduced and ruined the game. PayPal found in favour of Jamie in all but 1 instance (which got me £50 out of about £600 back) even without any comments or evidence from Jamie because they were all done as donations for a digital product its not covered under PayPal buyer protection so not a leg to stand on.

Buyer Protection for digital goods is only valid with Music, Photo's, software. It does not cover the buyer for In-Game Micro transactions.

We have Theia / Kam, (Kamikaze from Marble) trying to claim back as well, unfortunately for him, he forgot that he did this last year and it is being used as evidence against him (along with a nice PDF + Screenshots).

This was all ways going to happen,

the problem is he can apply to his bank for the money back and if they take it from paypal, paypal will take it from Jamie

tbh in a strange way its jamies fault should not allow someone to donate this much its crazy

and if you allow them to donate it get something thing on a print screen to say they understand what they are doing.

or put in Terms of Business or something to protect your self

Gonna be wired with out Hells as THC not much with out him in regards to guild pvp

also no more new patches to keep Hells happy :P

Was gonna say i will miss you but i wont......

I spoke to you on marble as I’d only been playing a week or so before my friends stopped playing and barely played it, you issued the refund yourself on that occasion. Must say I’ve never known a company to ban anyone unless they have lost the case tbh haha. Oh well back to the bank.

It isn't that easy, the agreements you hold with PayPal strictly forbid chargeback from banks in the case where disputes are overturned. They also have a lot of checks in place and unless you can 100% prove fraud they will fight the banks tooth and nail.

I generally avoid checking who donates or how much so I can remain impartial (or as much as possible).

I only look into matters when there is and issue.

Lets be honest here..

You were the one to attempt to blackmail not me, which didn't work (Hitchens's razor).
I told you of the consequences should you escalate the case(s), you did so knowing full well what it meant.

---

And this is what I am referring to when it comes to In-Game transactions and PayPal

This claim has been decided in your favour.

This item violates the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy. It's ineligible for PayPal Buyer Protection.

Dick move for anyone to try and recall transactions.
Surely if you feel you have not had value for money, or have a genuine reason to want a refund, speak to Jamie first?
Recalling a transaction just smells of trying to exploit in some way and causes more harm to the server... I bet you'd all be the first to moan if there wasnt any decent servers out there anymore.
I expected more from Hells too, but oh well.

It’s mostly vindictive, he wanted to damage the sever enough to try force Jamie’s hand. That amount in a smaller server could have caused them to close.

Anyone doing it is simply selfish and has no regard for the community or the players left behind potentially without a server.

I hope I don’t see any of his banners on here anymore to be honest, he doesn’t deserve that right.

A dedi (if you even bother) costs £30-£100 per month. Jamie will have made thousands from others, let alone the 7k odd from Hells alone.

Don't talk like Jamie is struggling.....

Server running costs are not at risk..

What banners are his?

I don't control them, and have also been away from Mir for a while until recently.
