Okay,

Played Mir2 on Euro so I thought I would come and play for nostalgia sake. I downloaded the Arcadia set up and played the game okay but after playing for about an hour I got a migraine afterwards. Anyone else had this problem? Am I playing on the incorrect setting or something? I may just be getting old... Anyone had similar problems and found a fix related to settings or something?

It's probably much to do with how the frames move on Mir. Many servers have a sort of stutter when you run/move which makes the screen look like it's shaking slightly and can cause eye strain.

I'd recommend turning vsync off on your GPU if you have it on, I always found that made Mir way worse, and perhaps try the likes of blue filter glasses to see if that helps. Also try playing in windowed mode to see if having the background stable helps. Just a few things that helped me over the years

some servers have a "smooth camera" option
I recall someone showing off here on forum in videos the difference between normal and smoothed out running background motion and many were impressed by it.
The real test might end up differently though. It often looks as if your character floats above background, making the running leg motions while the background image slides under it.

In the past when I returned to play after a longer pause, the jerky ground motion when running bothered me but you get used to it after a bit and stop noticing it. But I can see that it can become problem is you get fixated on it and the more you pay conscious attention to it, the more it would bother you.

I only ever recall that it can 'tire your eyes', not cause headaches. I only got those and accompanied by stomach upset 😮‍💨 in fully 3d games where I get disoriented and running close up into pixelated walls.
