I think it's ok to have some slight inconveniences during rebirths. Once an account has all the +soul unlocks it really won't take long to get to a point where you can fly through levels+items each rebirth and make endgame bosses an easy fight.

If everything gets sped up for convenience the game will run in to a dead end. You already get +droprate from rebirth anyway.

There does seem to be a huge imbalance in wiz vs war damage at the moment, level 3 flame disruptor with 95 mc/Luck 7+ is hitting for about 100 whilst ice storm does the same damage in AOE. TDB is hitting for 2x150 or so and FS for 400+. Its the Single Target Wiz damage that sucks the most, maybe make it so aspeed works on them too for some machine gun fun.

Fox Cave will be my next solo dungeon. It will go:
Hell Cavern (with Ice Hell and Flame Hell)
Fox Cave
Past Bicheon + Evil Mir

At that point I think I am out of content unless I go digging through other files.

Maybe I will nerf TDB a little bit and buff Wiz and Tao single fire damage.

Idea for a new feature, want feedback before I implement it.

How would you feel about a Trader NPC (like the one you see in real servers) but not a live one (too hard to make sure cheated items don't go up). Instead, every 4 hours it would refresh with a random list of 10 high tier items. So for example Flame Field might have a chance to pop up in it, allowing you to purchase it (for some extremely high gold price) allowing you to progress past current hard lock points?

Wouldnt say no, fairly confident i've got some of the best gear ingame at mo and DD one shots my wiz and tao, not sure how much more I can gear up without hitting level 50+. There seems to be a fairly large difficulty gap between BDD levelling and wasteland levelling too, might be helpful to have something in between.

If you are running out of content then make tiered versions of each location. Another idle game i play does this really well without having to make new maps and mobs every week to keep up.

Here is their tier mechanics taken straight from their wiki: (I'll give you my DC+1 JMace if you can recognise the game)

Combat Tiers

Each monster and Zone has different difficulty levels, or tiers, ranging from Tier 0 (T0) to Tier 5 (T5). As you progress through tiers, monsters become progressively more challenging but offer greater rewards.

Increasing tiers has the following effect on the fights:

  • Stronger Stats: Monsters gain increased HP, damage output, accuracy, evasion, and resistances with each tier
  • Better Experience: Higher tiers provide more combat experience per kill
  • Improved Drop Rates: Drop rates for rare items, key fragments, and treasure chests increase significantly at higher tiers
  • More Resources: Common drop rates (essences, materials, coins) improve by approximately 10% per tier.

Is it possibly Torn-City - Massively Multiplayer online text based RPG?

I don't like the idea of a trader NPC... Let us play the game of rng. That is the best part of this game I got tdb last night on my first zt kill after rebirth was ******* buzzing 🤣 cause the run before sucked but it makes it fun 😁

What is peoples process after rebirthing?

I'm finding myself farming lower sections with quicker kill speeds to get more items for smithings.

Do people even refine?
I did my first run took an item to +6 but the % rate was to harsh to carry on

Just a little Legend of Mir Idler prototype I have been working on and playing around with - https://www.lom2idle.com/

Only Warrior and only up to "Bone Cave KR".

Is this a game people would be interested in playing if I continued working on it? And if so, what else would you like to see added? Any suggestions and ideas?
I've updated your original post with the new link FYI

Worthing is depressing.
👀 - dont leave the cheated items on!

So i'll put my own hands up here, i did give myself a very swanky hooked sword on my first rebirth.. and damn i felt like it was worst decision. I found myself killing everything in 1 hit.. but i still had no kit on other characters, and ultimately, it was just boring.... Unless you're willing to cheat on all the items and spells modifying every little bit of your kit, you just end up with high level characters, no kits, and going nowhere.... especially with the TDB drop RNG 😂

Out of curiosity, why don't you obscure / jumble up the export data to make it a little bit harder to modify? My first computing assignment 20 years ago was exporting a string of text, scrambling it, is it not as simple as putting a scrambler on it? That being said it was 20 years ago and my coding knowledge is non existent now, but searching a file with notepad++ i can do 😂

Would it be considered cheating if we used a tampermonkey script to display what items drop where and what their drop % are?
It doesnt tamper with any player values at all, its just reading from public data that is easily searchable with a bit of knowledge.

@1westy1 - suggestion, could we purchase books up to lvl 33 for souls? Id have no issue with TDB being sold for say 20-30 souls, up to you if you buy it

Been reading some posts above and this is my view currenlty.

It does seem very warrior heavy at the moment but I’d hope his role would change more to having him as a tank end game. I do think tdb needs a slight adjustment considering how easy it is also to get a speed 12. However I do think at the moment wizards does lack single target but again currenlty mainly used for aoe damage. I think Tao needs a slight buff in damage or even pets doing more damage Deva and shinsu or even poison being scaled sc better. Then again it’s hard see how it plays out since I’m yet to get any of the top end spells yet.

I feel having a trader would spoil the feel of the game. I think having to grind and pray to the RNG gods is what Mir is about. Also so far with re births it’s been different every time which is a good thing and you can also seen progress.

There is the Codex that shows where items drop, but only after you've had them drop.

Just to explain the Trader idea bit more clearly:

Let's say every 6 hours, it shows 10 items. It will be RNG, so many of the items that come up you might already have anyway. And let's say something truly useful comes up (For Example, Flame Field) it would cost something crazy like 40 million gold. If there are no items you want (which is likely) you have to wait another 6 hours (or longer, I could make this 24 hours) until the trader updates with new items. It's a rare chance the specific thing you want shows up, and even if it does, you'll have to do some hard gold farming to be able to buy it.

Right now, FF only drops from Dark Devil, which is probably mathematically impossible to beat without 3 - 4 rebirths with added stats. But I'd like to have a way for people to earn the skill without having to rebirth.

I see it as a replication on how trading works in Mir. You might never see the item you need drop from a mob or boss, but you can always go spending 40 hours mining BIO or farming gold to be able to buy it from someone in town.

I like it as it offers an alternative (although still difficult) mode of progression.

How does that sound?
