Westy - could you also consider changing BDD so its boss-floor-boss-floor etc? The bit between IWT and KH where there are three floors of the same mobs is very tedious
You've all got me torn. I was absolutely going to add a "Spirit Box" as a rebirth item, that let's you save 1, 2 or 3 (maybe 4 with tokens) items into the next rebirth.
I want there to be a balance between making great items (refining, smithing, orbs and empowerment crafting) and bonus rebirth stats. I am worried if you always lose every item, it will just devolve into constant rebirthing to get bonus stats to carry you through the game.
I think it's a great idea mate, but you'd have to earn it. I'd have no issue paying souls to bring an item with you. Shouldn't be a low figure though, I'd say about 75? With the double rebirth points that would cost you 150. Think this is a fair middle ground?

Yeah i understand both views, i think a small carry over is good and will allow for some grails to be locked in and i would absolutely be min/maxing some perfect well rounded gear etc
getting to "end game" with amazing items and then thinking about rebirth to add a couple more stats would put alot of people off because they are already OP why bother?
Ive barely touched the mining / refining because i know its short term but definitely a good feature for making solid weapons.
But tbh at end game you will be farming hundreds of souls and will have most of the upgrades anyway especially with the x2 upgrade.
Maybe go down a seasons route like in path of exile?
Imagine a hardcore season mode mir2 aswell!
Some games on roblox have zones to enter but the restrictions would be "5 rebirths needed"
this would be a good way to encourage some movement but then you would have to have a minimum amount required for rebirth otherwise everyone would just kill wt once and rebirth spam
So many ways you can take the games direction its amazing
Aspeed maxes out at 12
Freezing maxes out at 10, which gives it a 15% chance to pro against bosses and 35% against normal mobs
Poison has no cap and scales additional poison damage
Magic Resist and Poison Resist both max out at 10. Giving 25% chance to resist MAC attacks (some bosses only) and 100% poison resist
No cap on Accuracy or Agility
Im not sure on carrying items over... you'll end up somebody getting a stacked set of Heaven Armours or Mir items, which will probably carry them back to same spot too quickly

I have no issue with it for very limited items with a steep cost, definitely needs to be pricey with a maximum number of items too. Perhaps even made so it can only be used with Empowered items and not "base" items.
What if I made some items "Ethereal" and those cannot specifically be carried over? And I assign it to things like Heaven Armour and Mir items. The kind of items that are intentionally OP so you can only get them on a run.
I just want to encourage people to do more weapon refining and empowered crafting.

I think the opposite if you kept items it would result in less refining. Currenlty I’m focusing on empowered items that focus on longer idle times lvling or efficiency

What about taking the "Refinement Stats" or "Empowerment Stats" with you - Allowing you to add these to any item you wish on your next Rebirth.
Example I select chosen item - SOWG +9 DC Refined.
I get the "+9 DC" stats available to add to any weapon of choice.
Can only be used once - Choose wisely on next run!

Based on that, maybe giving items a value, letting people take a maximum amount of points, which can be increased using rebirth points (afterall it the game needs plenty of soul sinks)... once an item gets too OP, it will then be unaffordable to carry forward?
Carry over in idle games has always been exponential speed at getting to a choke point in the game until you have rebirthed/restarted enough times those choke points become obsolete and then your onto the next choke point. Carrying items over can mess that up big time, losing value to long term play.
Id suggest weekend tournaments over 48hours which u can enter (you must rebirth, to enter or you can just skip it) and everyone gets bonus souls based on ranking (every rank gets some kind of bonus)
Also to carry items over it costs 500-1000 souls maybe but i wouldnt have it at all.
Think I am now leaning against the idea of saving items between rebirths. Instead just continue with the plan of using Rebirth Points to make things easier each rebirth, including refining, gemming and better Empowered Item drop rates.
I'll still push for the 1 item carry over, it gives you something solid to constantly work towards, if you want to refine your SOWG and orb it to the max, you can carry it over if you decide to do so, but you'll still have to wait until level 43 to wear it.
I do think most people would carry over a second TDB though if they are fortunate enough to get two!
Ok how about as an inbetween - You can save one item, but it costs 100 souls (or 100 tokens). But it cannot be an "Ethereal" item. I'll set things like Crystal Armour, Heaven/Mir items, Oma King Robe to Ethereal, so you can still bring through one item but the rare drop items still need to be found again.
