well i just got a new HD and installed windows and every5 mins i get these messages saying my regsistery is corrput but it always changes , is this true or is it just a popup?

if so how can i block?


sorry i may have fixed this now , by putting aol pop up blocker on...) ya i no aol suks but i dont pay the bill :))

goto start>control panel> adminstrative tools> services.

Look for "Messenger" service, double click it then "stop" & "disable" it :) then apply & ok.

They will now no longer appear. ^^

EDIT: its not true, its just an "advertisement" popup i do beleive :D

are they internet explorer pop up windows? or ones from windows itself?

i suggest you virus scan, and scan for adware with something like spybot

within spybot or msconfig you can look and see what is running at startup and if necessary disable stuff

scanning ohhh btw iam using aol not explorer , soz iam tired typing before i think lol


scanned using avg and fond nothing

SD do what i said m8 :) should fix your problem.

I used to get them messages/popups all the time,warning me about registry problems etc, i done the steps i posted above and it has stopped them since :P

sorry for ther mis understanding, i didnt mean it was a joke, i was explaining that the "error" popups you were getting were not true, thy were just advertising a fix for that kind of error, and lyring basically :P

I hardly made sense there, but i think you get what i mean ^^
