well soon i will be going to college, i need to fill out a application soon but not 100% sure what to do. At school im gettin mostly c`s maybe some b and probably come out with a d . Im intrested in I.C.T and Sport, i want a I.C.T job, not sure what to do. Any ideas?

BTEC in ICT and a BTEC in PE.

They will let you in with D's if you lucky. Although not all universitys recognise Btec grades.

Your exams are not until what, June? And your already damning yourself. Research has shown that students which think they can learn - often do better than those that think they can't.

You've plenty of time to get those grades up to A*-C. Find out your exam boards, download the specifications and teach yourself what you don't know.

If you do infact come out with GCSEs lower than Cs, then Xanans right. Perhaps the acedemic route is not for you. It will then be a matter of looking at vocational options like BTECs (IT Practionioners?) and Apprenticships. Don't bother with A-levels unless your going to do 'real'/traditional ones and get above Cs in at least 70% of all taken GCSEs.

Just keep your options open for now - do well at GCSE! If your really worried, concentrate on Maths, English Language and Science as a bare minimum.

This is what I decided to do after I failed my first year of AS, and am enjoying it quite a lot, (BTEC IT Practitioners, National Diploma), it's a good course for both beginners and people who are quite advanced, I've learned quite a bit, and improved and shared my knowledge in other places.

I recommend it if you don't like exams.

I didnt like BTEC IT practitioners, way too much report writing.

Most college's ask for 4x A-C for BTEC courses, and you need Maths and English A-C. The thing is, if you get a D in maths or English, most will still let you on, but you will need to do Keyskills Maths + English, or they will ask you to attend Classes to redo your GCSE maths and English in the first year of your course.

Even then, if you fail to make C+ on the papers its unlikely they will kick you off if your doing well on the course. You won't have time to do two courses in college though, unless you go for smaller courses.
