as above.i am looking to be a gm on a lom server i will be on most of the time i will help as much as possable and etc.. realy ill just do the best i can.

Well there has not been one of these posts in a while
TBH nobody is going to let you GM there server
They dont know you so there is no trust there
afaik you have no past exp on any mir servers
As a server owner myself I would never allow you or anyone I dont know or trust to have GM powers on my server

ye the only reason i am Gm in my server in making is cus...there are no other high lvling servers which maybe one of the reasons private servers are dieing

The know-how, and most importent something too offer the server team,

As revolation says it gets reali boring and when you start your own char it will lead you to corrupting the entire server it is a habbit but if u think u can resist this then go ahead.
atchely ive played mir for about 3 years now so i have exp on mir and ive just never posted here. and the trust thing well thats up 2 u realy you trust me or you dont at the end of the day.and i dont want to muck up a server i wanna b helpfull
Playing a server and GMing a server is a totally different thing
If you think GMing a server is all about spawning mobs and having fun then your in for a shock
mass PM from players
mass E-mails from players
Players going on and on at you to give them items or tele them somewhere
Players moaning cause a boss killed them and they dropped there items
Players moaning cause you have a life and are never online
the list goes on and on
If anyone makes you a GM on there server just cause you have played mir for a few years (I have 6+ years on playing Mir and 4+ years of server making, as do most members here) then they are fools
You can play mir for years and still not have a clue how a server works or how to GM one
If you really want to prove to people that you are a good GM then post your exp as a GM (if any), your char names on the servers you have played(so server owners can do research on your playing habits), more info about yourself
Did you really think that a post saying "I want to be a GM please make me one" was going to get your anywhere

I too have played mir the whole time it has been up and running. Been on LOMCN since it started, but bans are so easily gotten here, oops might of earned myself another 1 there :O anyways i have only tried to do servers for a year, however i was **** at everything, and up until recently i have done the following..
DB Work,
Monster DB
ItemDB
i have learnt how to add new items ingame, i also have learnt how to add new mobs, and basically just learnt how to mess around with server files..
also NPC Scripting, so your best bet is too make your own from scratch 1.4 or 1.9 or DM2 1.9's are easiest tho, and host it and make ya self a GM its so easy..
also id like to thanks my mate for helping me along the way with Everything :O

I personally think that DM2 is the easist lol... some others disagree but DM2 is set in a very user friendly way and people still struggle with it :err: i dont get it half the time. Personally i would say make a server, it will be more fun for you.

ppl dnt struggle with it imo, they just come here and ask questions straight away without even attempting to solve it on their own, just because its easier to do so.
take the 2 common errors you first get in the m2server for example (maps cant be loaded, and cant find mir2.exe)
both wld be solved simply if they took just one second to look at the error.

well to be very honest ive had no exp being a GM but weeve all got to start somewhere.when i made this post all i wanted was GM powers ealy and to be respected in someways i never thaught of exp of being a GM and etc...sorry for the thread people
Most of the people here first started off with their own server, not someone elses. You'll get the respect your after if you make a decent server.
been a gm is been having a responsiblity cause i thought it be gd been gm first i've played for 3 years learning the basics at the start playing server gathering ideas then i learnt onto better things helping lomcn with lil things making npcs and stuff trust me its not easy just go out dont get into mir cause when u do there no turning back i gave up for 2 months trying to stay off it but i couldnt i just kept coming back for more and more learning more new things as each day passed untill there was a point i couldnt learn any more execpt i went onto been a npc maker and learnt more on npcs and stuff learn things its gd to do something in life like that u get a nice reputation i problem dont have one but i still put effort into it making friends helping them out and stuff dont ask to be gm cause they always want u to do stuff and u wont be able to help learn things there basic guide to do stuff after u learnt that then maybe appaliction onto been a gm in a server

No need to be sorry, It's just these kind of post's pop up every now & then & Server owners carnt just give people asking to be GM's GM Powers they would have know players.
My advice would be to start messing around with Mir Server files & learn a skill e.g NPC scripting or Coading dont go saying i can do DB's & items like most people because db'in & adding items any one can do but if you lerned NPC scripting then ud have a better chance of geting on a small team.
Actually i started off my GM Experience on WeOwn 1.4 lol.
But then again that came from friendship of the host since Mir started :P
