Actually suicide bombers are geniuses:

1) No jail time, no aftermath from killing/injuring X amount of people and damage to property.

2) Their religion obviously has no objection to suicide (unlike Christianity where you go straight to hell) and it even promotes it as a way to get into their 'heaven'.

So they help their cause, suffer no 'humiliation' of being paraded around trials and through courts to determine a punishment and they pass go, collect 200 dollars and go straight to heaven to meet the one true god Allah and live in peace for the rest of eternity.

If things were the other way around and Iraq bombed, invaded and continued to occupy the UK while exerting extremely brutal force on any resistance fighters or even innocent civilians that just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time (EG. In the UK at the time of the invasion) then I'd 100% become a suicide bomber and I'm not a follower of any religion.

Sure beats the hell out of shooting a couple of soldiers then getting put in a cell for several years while getting beaten, tortured and humiliated.

In their eyes and the eyes of their peers, this death is a heroes death.

To be fair, there are minorities in all religions that cause severe problems, Islam probably wouldn't be getting so much attention if it wasn't for the war, which has of course further agitated the minorities in said religion and has forced them to be a bit more obvious and public in their actions.

At the end of the day, the minorities are the ones who are going to get plastered on the front pages of newspapers and get ever increasing air time, not only spreading the fear of an entire religion but also increasing the hate on both side which leads to further ease in said minorities obtaining fresh followers of the cause.

Yea, I think it's an amazing place as well, I'm well up for football in Tel Aviv one day.
