Who said I'm Muslim? My dad is Muslim, my mum is Christian. I am neither.

You may have said something along the lines of 'Not every muslim is bad', but then you went and called an entire country backward based on , wait for it....a television program you saw on Channel 4. Tip of your **** mate.

Heh, you just defended the Saudi regime.

And you call other people ignorant. Get lost.

Excuse me, where did I defend it? That is the country which is holiest to Muslims and there are people there who are not corrupt... I don't think you know what you're talking about son, because if you did you would know that even in Britain quite alot of muslims are questioning the validity of Saudi Arabias intentions based on various legislation passed over the years there..fair enough, there are fanatics who are blinded by self-righteousness, but not the whole country is it? Heres a tip for you pal, look at both sides of an argument before you get lemon.

Who said anything about the whole country? Nobody, that's who. I said 'regime'. The Saudi regime. You want a dictionary? Christ.

Yes, there are fanatics, and a lot of them just so happen to be the ones who hold high places. Hence my point. Yes it is a backwards place, because hateful and corrupt arbiters and ruling classes are allowed to dominate it. Hence why you see headlines like "woman sentenced to death for witchcraft".

Yea but who defines what is backward? You? Western culture? You going to insult a culture now, are you? Something based on rituals and traditions which have occured for thousands of years? Very intelligent. Might seem wrong in your eyes, and I agree with youit does seem wrong in mine as well, but you can't interfere in peoples ****. Its not proper. Also stop trying to talk to me like you're smart, there are people on here who I know are clever but sadly fella you aren't one of them (yet, prove me wrong).

Why should I turn a blind eye to the oppression of an entire population just because of what 'tradition' says is right? Cultural and moral relativism is no excuse for indifference. You're telling me that because some extremist ruling class is stuck in the medieval ages, and is dragging its people down with it, we should just feel to do nothing about it? Bulls‪hit.

Imagine if we kept our 'traditions', we'd still have an Empire, keeping Indians in concentration camps with permission to kill them whenever we felt. We'd probably be occupying Jerusalem with a garrison of pious soldiers. We certainly wouldn't have democracy, and we'd all be as oppressed as the Saudis.

The world is meant to move forward, but regimes like those in Saudi Arabia just keep their people back.

Tough crap. That's my answer. Like I said, you can't do anything about it. It's like you telling me to stop kicking the **** out of my little brother to keep him in line when hes a twat. You have no right to dictate over what is the norm in our way of life. Move yourself forward, by all means. Don't hit your little brother, because child abuse is wrong (my brother is 17 before anyone says anything), thats your way of doing things.

No, Empires and colonial rule are not culture. Binge drinking is part of a culture. Tea and biscuits are part of a culture. Imagine someone saying you can't get lashed on a Friday night because it's morally wrong. You'd tell them to **** off. Sure, the Saudi Arabians are self righteous, but surely it's hypocritical to say that it is not in fact them that is right, but you?

Yes, morals are a human construct. Yes they're arbitrary. Yes, these judges might be acting 'ethically' as seen by their own culture. That's moral and cultural relativism. But, even recognizing this, I have no problem acting under my own arbitrary morals. Being concerned for the basic freedoms of a population does not make me some kind of ****ing bad guy, no matter how much you try to spin it.

Oh, and British imperialism could very much have been considered a part of our culture and tradition. When we had our Empire we'd been expanding our terrotories for centuries simply in the name of "Britain". We only gave up on that quite recently. Jesus, just shut up already.

Never ;) Don't give me any bull**** about being concerned about the freedoms of a population, if you're talking about you yourself as an individual then ****in hell good luck to you, but if you're talking about it politically all I'm going to say is OIL. USA and Britain don't care about straightening out the Saudi morals, or the people , lets be honest now. Some say it was about revenge for Bush as well. But I guess could be seen as a continuation of British culture, no?

I'm going to bed now mate, and I still think you're ignorant.

Whichever way you look at it the most important question you need to answer is: What did you get for your birthday Van?

I'm not even going to get into a discussion about oil, but that was a pretty swift change of subject right there.

Saudi oil.

It's more a reason for ignoring it. But either way, it doesn't apply to me. It applies to a government that I didn't vote for so... Good night.

MATHS FOR THE ****ING WIN YEAH.

Even though I've always been bad at it... still got a C at GCSE like, but still, I'm bad; I think I got lucky.

Lets debate about whether the school system should make the chavs of the world sit in a fiery put of death while being poked by the very rod of Satan. Hilarity at it's height.
