Just thought id say for people looking to renew or for first car to try quick fit insurance, with all my convictions (CD10 + 5 points, DR10)and being 19 they still quote me pretty ok, well better then expected.

For a 1.6 16v 3dr astra sxi was 1700 a year which isnt bad for age and all that crap on my licence :).

And if you want it cheaper, theres a thing called the yellow pages. There's specialised insurance companys that deal with young, new & point realated drivers and you will find the insurance is a lot cheaper that 1700

Ive paid £1100 for my first year, but thats on a van.. Some companys wouldn't touch me saying i needed a liecense for 12month. Norwich Union came to my aid!

So your quote is good considering, i had other quotes from 2k to 4k =/.

Jeez iv been looking for a decent insurance compnay for ages, Im 19 i got a quote of 2.4k for a Golf TDI 1.9 with no points. I nearly laughed in the blokes face down the phone.

Confused.com is also pretty plop i think they just give you quotes from insurers that sponser them.

I failed to get my year no claimes due to Direct line messing me about. I ended up paying far too much then my 106 drive shaft went and i couldnt afford to fix it.

Oh well life proves to be a *****! lol

I haven't checked for a quote in ages tbh, cos I dont have a car nemore lol.

First car was a 1.9 tdi 306 but I had it on my mums insurance, was quite expensive still, like 1200 quid maybe a bit less...

now i'm 19 and haven't had any claims since I passed when I was 17...but I haven't been driving all that time...does that affect my no claims?

Maybe your high-priced insurance quotes are due to the high maintenence your car will endure throughout your ownership you know; buckled wheels, tire replacements. Nah im only kiddin with ya matey ol' pal :)
