Post count: Hide or Show

Simple one really, would you like the post count in threads to be shown or hidden?

Im the only one to vote no, I feel people only use the forum to get their post count up and it would save alot of spam.

I'm with Azura, so many noobs just spam to get thier post counts up.. and most have green names. I think name colours should be for length of time being registered, not time spent spamming posts.

I would change mine to no if the reputation system was a bit more serious.

That way people would be identified as having contributed rather than just posted alot. I've seen other forums focusing on rep and it works very well.

Would mean enforcing using rep only when people contribute properly, and I have no idea how the system works or how hard it is to moderate the rep gains.

I have a feeling this just wouldn't work in a community like this.

I voted post counts should be shown but then i read this post and agree with it lol.
Post counts are a way of showing how you may have contributed to the forums but if every1 used the rep system instead it would show it alot better

I agree, though the rep system can lead to being abused as well.

well next to the Quote button theres a Thanks button
when you press it , ur name goes under the post which shows you have thanked that person for his or her work/post

and it shows how many times you have been thanked under your post count next to your avatar

I voted hide. Maybe bring in an incentive for more active users / posts. Something like 0-200 posts one name colour 200 - 400 another. Admins / Mods could have a bold colour or underlined. Just an idea.

Alot of twits also abuse the system by putting "Give me rep and ill return it" etc and links in thier signitures for giving it.

I Think just being able to give somebody a rating out of 5 for the usefulness of thier post would be good.... means no spiteful little children (like me =D) can give bad rep for somebody being a twat.

Remove the negative.. and up the positive!!! I'm still all for no post counts.. they proove u can sit on your arse and type things.
