Whats the issue, why is SQL 2005 causing, you would be best resolving that rather than rolling back to older insecure versions.

Login gates keep going down. i have no idea why its 2005, but did exactly same for me, I rolled it back to 2000 and worked fine.

i have no idea... lol. But reading on the error I was getting people said it was to do with SQL.

Just a coincidence it works fine with 2000 but 2005 causes problems

Its possible sql 2005 is running on the same port as the login, maybe check that.
