im interested in putting a server together, one almost identical to the euro mir 2. That means no assassins.

now of course i've no idea how to go about this programming wise so id need a team, but i can fund this project. pm me if interested

tbh this convo has been around for a while , on whether anyone would actually play a euro mir clone again , and some say no some say yes , and some say euro mir clone has been past its sell by date , but good luck on giving it a try :)

no that would be wrong , means u dont want nomore coding updates and keep it exacly like euro
if u wanna do a euro server do it so it will continue where euromir left .

if u want just a pure clone of euro mir u can use 2.3 files , and here somewhere are the official stats/drops etc stolen from euro

yes id like to continue where mir2 left off, just with my and a teams ideas instead of wemades.

in my eyes assassins ruined mir.

what im trying to achieve is basically a low rate server, but without the ability to kill BL or ZT for instance with 1 taoist. legend of mir for me was all about team work.. thats why BattleGrounds was such a good map to play.

the bosses will be tweaked for sure to be made harder and maybe additional attacks, like legend of mir 3's ZT range attack was a good idea.

also i dout anyone will want to level from 1 again, so will have to involve some sort of exp+ for low levels. still alot to think about for this server

2.3 where euro left off?

once the server is up and running i'l think about imputing an extra cave in or something, as going straight back to euro might get boring

All I'll say is don't expect a high usercount. Lowrates get little interest nowadays as it is, nevermind bog basic euro servers.

I enjoy LR but even I wouldn't be remotely interested in playing a euro CLONE. Usercount played a big part in Euro.

Hate to put a downer on you, but a euro clone just won't work or at least won't get a steady usercount of more than 50 for any amount of time.

well i think the most important thing in makeing is a server is to enjoy what ur doing and if he enjoys/likes doing/keeping/updateing a server euro Clone
its more then enuff and im sure there are still ppl who would play , tbh i may be one of them :P

I've never played euro and i will never do. I hate LR i profer mid/high. Sorry to say but you wouldnt get many usercounts. I all ways like to get somet nice each day And on euro you probs wont get nice stuff. If you had a coder it probs turn out well.

The only LR i would really go to is 'RageZone' :P Was ok in the days. Were you get xmas bosses for xmas i all ways hunted fox cave :) Good old days. Maybe make it based on euro and upper exp slightly? And add quests and challenges. I all ways love challenges:P

The server wont be a replica of euro to the very last detail,

1. yes the exp will be upped in some areas, but also difficulty will be upped in some aswell
2. New caves and new weapons will be introduced, along with new skills.
3. The drop files will be edited, as euro's was silly. for example i camped DarkDevil, arguably one of more difficult bosses and it dropped once in a full moon.
4. It will have regular events, Quests will be inputted
5. Bosses will be increased in strength, as 1 taoist soloing Bonelord or Zuma Taurus was a joke

and much much more along the same lines. and if you enjoy a good item gained everyday this is probably not your type of server. as that would be basically giving it away.

usercount might not be great to start off with, but given time hopfully it will appeal to other people. And maybe even see some familiar oldschool faces

been jotting down ideas today, some feedback will be good

1, Now thinking more medrate with exp
2. Bosses will be upped in difficulty (maybe throw in afew new moves. might make bosses with rage attack mobs aswell)
3. Drop files slightly tweaked, manly on high level bosses
4. Custom quests made, including story line and multiple choice answers (effecting storyline)
5. No assassins!
6. Make all or some official towns a guild town like sabuk, giving steady income. the bigger the town the more income.
7. Make guild town times optional under agreement i.e poison resistance will tint the colour of the armour green. (still unsure)
8. Respawn points in caves to be revised
9. Town - town and town - cave teleporting will be free
10. Events will have a lot of variety, inc the old lords (bichon lord, Wooma lord) who will be very powerful, also low level events will run.
11. Input of a low-level map, aiming to boost lower levels to mid level (inc Boss)
12. Oma King Spirit will be back!
13. Soul class might be upped in damage, unsure still


Just a few ideas so far, im not sure if this guy is serious about helping me run/program for this server. if hes not i will need help. once its off the ground and in motion, it will be given a month and depending on user count i will pay for a dedi server to host it.

feedback positive and negative will be handy :)

If this is a 2.6 OFC it hasnt got Assassin mate. I'm sure your putting that in most of detail posts:P Everyone around mir knows that 2.3 ant got assassin. Just for heads up when you post Beta/Live don't put. There is no Assassins ingame. That will be silly:P

Good luck with server. If you need any help with stuff ill be around helping as much as i can:P I carnt be here 24/7 helpin due to i need work:P

PS: Soz for moaning but i think you put that to much:P

On most 2.6+ Assassins suck:P

Never really liked them. I wouldnt mind trying an ARCHER :P But would be a couple of years when that is out :001_rolleyes:

yes archer would be a good idea, wouldnt of thought it would be a hard thing to make?

but making it fit in league with the other classes would be hard i guess, something that mir failed to do with assassins. who nows could be something to take in consideration for the future, as all im doing atm is jotting ideas down until i find a coder.

If your making a server with no assassin you may aswell just use TD's 2.3 files, you won't be able to code custom things in but chances of you finding a coder is slim to none unless you know one as there's only a few out there intrested in mir most of whome are already involved in a server.
