Got some virus today, happend when i was on youtube just looking at stuff, suddenly firefox closed, all my other programs closed and the Security Center opened, Firewall got turned off and some program called XP Anti-Spyware started running.

Now this fkin thing starts up when ever i try to open anything it just closes it, i actually had to go into Windows Search and do a web search just to get on firefox, tried to run in Safe mode but still starts up when windows starts, i seriously cannot open anything, when i do it just closes and XP Anti-Spyware starts up and scans.

Does anyone know how i can remove this? I can't even find the dam exe. file nor can i open up regedit.

Sorted, i could use Command prompt so i tried to see if i can open system restore using this command
%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

It worked, managed to restore my system to 3 days ago.

Does anyone know any good anti Virus/Spyware to prevent this kind of virus? iv had it in the past, not this bad but simular.

Only using Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, both work good.

P.s Does anyone use Spyware Doctor? when searching for fix's for this, alot of them said download this.

Yer just got it, did a scan and i found 9 threats and like 200 Infections and thats was only a quick scan lol, doing a full scan now and it's picked up a couple. But am looking for like Internet security, when i used AVG anti-virus when ever i googled a site it would have a mark next to the link to tell you if the site is trustworthy, if it was bad and you went onto it then it would just warn you before continuing, i want that sort of thing.

alot of people will question the antivirus but i would reccomend it as i use microsoft essentials alongside zone alarm free firewall and ever since having them both installed on my laptop together i have not had a single virus every scan ive done comes back with 0 viruses found and ive had it on my laptop almost a year now

mbam and mse all the way. we install just these on all our brand new machines at work now. mbam saves alot of registry edits for viral infections.
