Well,
My PC was getting very very noisy, so I decided to give it a good old clean out inside. Took out the Gcard, Power Supply, Processor & Heatsink and got rid of all the dust, put some new thermal paste on the processor etc.
Put it all back together again, turned it on and it started smoking... poo poo, so I turned it off and thought it was the Processor, maybe not enough thermal paste of something.
Turned out it was the wires between the CD Drive and Floppy drive! All the wire had melted... So I've disconnected these, sorted all the bare wires out ect and connected it all back up, an turned the machine on.
I got an error during start up "Cmos checksum error". I pressed F2 to load defaults... PC started up fine. Restarted it to see if I get the same error - Nope it booted up fine.
Google talke gave me a secure connection error, but the time & date were wrong (was 1st Jan 2001). So i've fixed this to the correct time and date. Google Talk connects, DropBox connects (This also gave me a secure connection error).
But, when I go online, to say Facebook, I tried to login and got a secure connection error! i had to add it in as an exception for it to work. This got me a little worried, as I purchase things online using my card, and also use internet banking... Don't want to be doing any of that when I'm getting secure connection errors.
But also, when i run mir.exe (2.3 mir) I get loads of Access Violation errors See screenshot...
Any ideas? :S
