I was thinking just now that wouldn't it be nice if we could swop the runes we had once placed on our items and if theres enough interest maybe it would be coded ingame (Example Ac -> Dc , Mc -> AMC Ect)

Wouldn't that make runes worthless once you have 3 of each if you can just keep taking them on/off that item.

No because we use the same idea from WoW once you replace a rune the rune will be destroyed

Remove the word "Swap" (English spelling) and in it's place put the word "Replace". So to put a new rune in it destroys the old one. (Or has a % chance to be removed successfully with the use of a "removal item".)

That actually makes it a good idea then. If anything that would make runes be more dynamic/worth more by people chopping and changing them when they want.

I like the idea.

But, I like the idea of having a chance to fail. Not too high, but that risk of replacing a rune with a rune and it failing is quite a decent idea. If it fails, the rune you are trying to use is destroyed.

Good idea... I think it would also be a good idea to be able to swap items... For example a copper ring for a paralysis ring.

Would need a more complex slotting window to put slotted items in, so you can select which rune to replace, however had this idea ages ago and would be an excellent cash sink from the server if you made a removal item that can only be bought from a shop for 100k a pop!

I believe they will be adding a system/npc to remove runes from items(destroying the rune). or recovering the runes(destroying the item). They should if not anyway. IMO this method is best and most used by most other rpg's that have these kind of systems.(even if the recovering runes part would never be used cos they too easy to get anyway)

have either runes or gems not both. If keeping runes then don't let ppl swap replace change them. Cos you cant ungem/unorb an item if you want to change stats so why with runes. Why haven't runes got a chance of failing/breaking item? Why success adding it every time? Nothing else in game works every time.

If you changed it so that runes could break items now, you're just punishing new players again though. Older items will have been easier to make, newer ones will be harder. It'll be even worse than items that could be gemmed before the cap was put in place.

The difference between gemming and runes though is you can gem every item that drops

You have to work to find an item with slots (Especially 3 slots)

You have to "work hard" to get a gem or buy it.

Anyway, I personally think you should be able to remove runes, but it should always be an expensive and destructive process.

Don't allow swaps at all, just have an option (that costs) to remove all currently slotted runes. The runes themselves are destroyed, you then start from scratch.
