Why have RTs been disabled here from 4th floor onward, the RME itself was an awful dropper up to this point and you made an already hard boss (harder than mtk, dd, oma king) even less attractive to hunt. Only reason I can fathom is to stop wizards at the only boss they shine at...

Actually it was broken and has been for a long time, there was an area to the left of rme which was out of his spike reach (a bug which was never fixed) thus this gave players the chance to clear the room 1-2 mob at a time and kill RME with no challenge. Rme was renowned for being an easy soloable boss due to this bug.

We believe this isnt how rme was intended to be and have changed it to what we consider a more strategic encounter.

Group play will now be needed, players to handle mobs, players to heal and players to kill the boss, get in and kill as fast as possible.

Granted there is probably a few to many mobs in there atm, this will be lowered in the next fix.

What's next, no RT'ing around Bug Caves...

What's next, no RT'ing around Bug Caves...

Rts have been disabled in many dungeons 1-2maps before KR (same as minimaps in some cases) this is too prevent people getting to bosses too quick, and rt''s becoming the standard mode of transport for players, if you can rt right to a boss with all out potions still intact (what's the point in the rest of the floors?)

People RT because the Cant Be Arsed to run... it has nothing to do with difficulty. Your just going to annoy players with these changes. No Minimaps in KR floors is annoying enough, but the addition of no rting floors b4 kr is bad move imo.

We are not a high rate, we do not hand things out on a plate like teleports to krs and such as many high rates do, we believe mir is about achievements, from the big to the small.

Many players have become accustomed to having everything handed to them on a platter, this isn't good for what mir is.

Many people may dislike doing a lot of things, take levelling for example, mir has always been a notorious grind, does that mean we should change start level to 45 because people cba? no.
people can also find boss hunting tedious when they don't get the item drop they want, does this mean we should make all the items drop 1/1 ? no.

Having these grind elements build up to the most memorable and cherished moments of the game, like hitting level 40 or getting that rare item you have been after for so long.

its the people who work through the mundane tasks who achieve the most out of it.

Mir has always been about the grind, take that away and your only left with the shell of a great game.

No i agree stuff shudnt be handed to players on a plate, but adding annoying things like No Minimaps, disabled RT's isnt the way to do it. I actually enjoy the fact exp is a grind as lvls do feel more rewarding your right. If you feel things are too easy why not make harder caves with higher rewards etc, avoid doing things that will annoy the players imo.

You're taking things out of the game which weren't even dreamt about with the official versions of the game...

I'm not disputing the fact a great job has been done revitalising a game on the brink of death. But it's these changes that are making players leave.
RT's are an item we have to purchase to give us the luxury of moving around a cave. It's already a hindrance to collect the gold to buy the RT's, now the RT's cannot be used, I guess I'm just going to save myself a few thousand. I won't be hunting RMV anymore.

As stated in an earlier post, I'd have supported a 5th Floor 'No RT' zone.
I enjoy both the solo and group aspects of the game, you're taking the solo away from me slowly. I shouldn't need a huge group to do a mid-level cave.

This is not a whinge-post as I'm sure i'll be flamed for, just a mere observation that I and many others will share.

Turriccan dont get drawn into arguments on here. You're doing a great job building the server in the teams vision.

This isn't an argument, this is a discussion between players and developers.

I'm in Apex...

Playing from Australia and the time difference I can only enjoy hunting subs until the weekend. Even then, waking up at 4am in the morning for a guild hunt is not high on my list of priorities.

OR their doing it right... take a leaf out of their book and do the same. (before I suddenly get accused of being an Apex bummer too, I am still a pathetic low lvl and have no interest in joining either.)

Personally everything that's been changed on this server I agree with, I like the fact most bosses are now "group" affairs, people seem to have lost the sense of teamwork with this game :(

Okay you made it harder to increase the challenge, I hope you increased the drop rate too because I've had more off 1 DarkDevil than I have had off double figure RME's and its much harder.

The reboot sorted the book drops from high level bosses, got a hiding book instead of slaying last night.

Also, why do u have tt's in shop? Get them out, make use of de. If ppl want tt's , hunt bats or buy from noobs (this way noobs can make some pot cash too).

/offtopic - Is it any wonder people say these things though? I'm not pointing any fingers here, because it isn't my place. However, both Mir2 & Mir3 have a huge history of developers/staff playing with big guilds and untoward things happening. Again, not saying it is happening here, but everyone is always suspicious.

/ontopic - I'm undecided on the changes to things like RT and removing the mini map in certain places. Mostly because it hasn't had any impact on me personally so far. But the word of caution would be, don't over engineer something just for the sake of it. There is a very fine balance between making the game enjoyably difficult and nothing more than a chore. The latter will burn people out incredibly quickly.
