Just make pets tame more often, save when you log off/dc and last until you or the pets die. I think a lot would be happy about that.

5 permanent lvld pets? That's going way too far in the other direction.

if somebody is stood still, clicking medium hp pots, a wizard cannot kill them.

Pet's need to stay out of it in my opinion, you need to invest up to an hour to get those, and in pvp, taos can poison them, and they can be killed. this means you have lost an entire hour. It's a bit like comparing someone on a fortitude elixir on LOL vs someone without. You have invested in that short term perk, so it's not something you can compare linearly.

I really think doubling the damage of FC, lightning, and icestorm would be a great start. FC and Icestorm damage is SO low, doubling it might not be enough. 20 dmgx2 is only 40. Lightning will benefit the most from a double, and so it should, that spell has always HURT when hit by it. Once you double these spells damage, you can then begin to tune it. Right now, it's just nowhere near correct, maybe doubling it will be too much, maybe not enough, let's do it and see!?

Yea if the base damage is increased, it's still going to then be multiplied by your MC, so curious as to what MC you have that you're basing your current damage figures on, as they seem extremely low.

This is an interesting thread, it's just a shame that despite Sam repeatedly demonstrating how much thought has been put into balancing the classes and justifying why it wouldn't actually be wise to just buff lots of wizards' spells, people are still banging on demanding buffs to this, that and the other.

1. Wizards have ALWAYS been weak damage wise vs other classes until mirroring, FF, blizz and meteor - fact. However, once they get these they're probably the strongest class for pvp, maybe joint with tao.
2. Lightning does hurt - when a target is redded it does what, 70/80 damage? And it's an AOE spell.
3. Wizards have never been able to out-damage the effects of pots on someone standing still with ease until they get the uber spells mentioned in point 1.

It's been like this since Euro. Wizards only 'balance out' in this sort of thing at very late game, but I think part of the problem is that now you've got other classes like archers and sins who have completely changed the concept of 'DPS', wizards are seeing this and thinking hmm i wouldn't mind a bit of that.

With Magic Shield no longer being as rare as it was (which is good as it's absolutely necessary for wizzies) I've noticed wizzies handling themselves a lot better, both in pvp and pve. Wizards dominate pve and always will and do get better late game for pvp, as we're already starting to see. If they get buffed you'll end up with a class that not only out-levels everyone else but is also uber for pvp. Something has to give, and I don't actually think it's as unbalanced as people are making out, but people need to be patient and wait for the 40+ spells and wait til they get more MC, which will take time but as I say it's always been this way for wizards.

And how do we get the extra MC with no refining etc at low/mid levels extremely rare to get added shop kit drop. firewall doesnt work anymore with mob AI and Tbolt hits at 1/4 of same level Archer spell in shop kit.


dont want much to be honest just balance at low/mid level. some of us cant do 60 hours a week levelling. Its so frustrating I actually switched off and watch TV last night >.<

How about we make thunderstorm hit everything but bonus damage against undead/unliving monsters.
and it deals 50% of it's normal damage to living monsters so people can just tstorm everything.
Then give FC abit more damage since slow rate got nerfed.
lightning is fine once a wizzy has quite the amount of mc lightning will hurt hard as fck.
Icestorm can use a 10 base damage upgrade.

if you put in these changes wizzards will be fine

I disagree with this suggestion regarding TS, simply because wizards already level twice as fast as other classes just being able to TS undead mobs, I don't think this needs further enhancements. I do agree lightning will hurt as desired once people start getting more MC.

funny, as a wizard, I login, and go straight to get pet's..cause without them I can't level solo, it's mind boggling boring t bolting 1 mob slowly cause thats all i can do unless I go to a low level cave like bc..pointless being a wiz if you can't level with the skills given to you

if you read though this thread its about 50/50 at the moment on opinions on how wiz should be.

people just need to see how it pans out as wizards get higher level, as said, Wizards bloom late for pvp and when they do they become the best!! (and wiz level the fastest so they do get to highest levels first, AND you can solo boss's with ease!! witch is unfair on class's that cant, all class's have there pros and cons.)

clone / FlameDisruptor / Firewall / icestorm / Flamefield / Meteor Storm + the 2 high lvl ice spells + Pets if they can be bothered. wiz pwns all....

All these spells kick arse in pvp, I don't under stand what the problem is other then people just don't have the spells / kit yet.



I think lighting could do with a tiny damage buff, but hows that going to effect the spell at high lvl and high mc?



(anyone else thinks these threads are just pvp losing complaints?)

you shouldn't need level 45 to be able to pvp. its fine that maybe wiz are slightly weaker early, getting stronger... but right now they are obsolete. The only people against buffing wizards are using incorrect information, or using stupid scenarios, or bringing pets into it when they are not what's being discussed.

explain why i seem to do fine in pvp...... yeh I cant INSTA-KILL someone, but I can kite them around till they run out of pots and TT(with no pets)........... how is that obsolete

and if I had pets like maggots or wedgemoths GG id make them TT or die sooner.

Wizards magic should have passives.

Fire Spells - A Burn passive applied like poison, random chance to apply Burn- next hit will be a critical
Lightning Spells - A Static passive applied like poison, random chance to apply Static - next hit will be a critical
Ice Spells - A Chill passive applied like poison, random chance to apply Chill- next hit will be a critical

This would help negate some of the lack of damage wizards are missing without making them OP.

The server has been up less then a month are most wizards are running around in basic kit. Imagine those that will have double mc that they have now. Complain when it matters because at the minute it don't.

What the hell? Wizards need buffing? Since when?! Wizards are stronger than ever, the speed they level is clearly faster than other classes as it always has been, I constantly see these wizards with these L7 armoured ants which are ridiculously overpowered.

Wizards seem unhappy their main attacks do less than archers, but archers don't have 5 pets, nor a multitude of mass attacks.

If you're a wizard you know what you signed up for when you started, if wizards get buffed I think other classes should be given a change to change class, I didn't realise Wizard would become a superpower when I made an archer!


Edit: Just read the entire thread, many of the suggestions from players here are entirely unpractical and would ruin the playing field for levelling for other classes to have any chance of keeping up. Double the damage of tbolt/lightning? lol, ridiculous.

I think the developers need to place more faith in their own testing and not keep making changes based on players forum complaints. The one thing I miss about Euro was the consistency and the fact major changes didn't happen all the time which influence your class so significantly you wish to reroll etc. Other than that, this server is superior.

why do people constantly bring up pets? yes we use them, why? because we're forced to due to having no damage, if I could level without them I fooking would, now stop, think, PETS - THESE ARE NOT INGAME JUST TO MAKE US LEVEL AND PVP, THEY ARE INGAME AS SOMETHING TO GET IF YOU WANT TO NOT BECAUSE YOU SHOULD HAVE TO, THIS DOES NOT COME INTO WIZARD DAMAGE AT ALL NOR SHOULD IT BE CONSIDERED IN THE BALANCING OF WIZARD DAMAGE, NOT EVERY WIZARD WANTS TO LOGIN, GO GET PETS JUST TO LEVEL AND PVP, now you read that you should understand, pet's are not REQUIRED, but a luxary wizards get to chill in a lower cave or take on a specific boss like IWT or w/e, the issue is our actual damage, so just please stop saying "oh but you get 5 pets blah blah you own" or wait till high level with decent mc blah blah, it's not balanced/fair if every other class can pk, but we are forced to just "defend" ourselves and run round till they tt, cause they won't die as we don't have the damage output what so ever, if when we are higher and the adjustments made make us too OP then they can adjust it more, but right NOW and HERE wizards have no damage output in comparison to other classes meaning every class stomps us, don't even think about saying oh but you get pets to defend you, WE SHOULDN'T NEED THEM, please someone say they understand...

So let me get this right... A wiz can cast t bolt about same cast speed as SFB and I bet they both do similar damage yet taos aren't bitching about their dmg output. What damage do you think wizards are doing? Like 30 or 40 dmg?

Are people expecting a wizz to out pvp a sin or Archer and have the potential to level the fastest? It sounds like people want the best of everything.
