Lagged out Red in BC.

I was red in BC yesterday evening and suddenly lagged out. There wasn't any mobs or players in the near vicinity when I lagged but I somehow ended up in PK Penal, obviously with my full bag of stuff missing that was slightly annoying.

Could this be a bug or was I just that unlucky someone turned up right after I lagged and dropped my helpless self without me knowing?
