Since 1.8 patch if I go over bag weight I bounce back. Then when I drop items so that I'm not over weight I begin to lag lasts about 5 mins. Others in my guild getting this to.

I have had the bounce back but I haven't lagged afterwards. The bounce back is a very minor annoyance really.
I have had the occasional problem before (on both Ace2 and here) where my character does freeze up though, like I'm suffering severe lag. Every step I run takes seconds to "complete", almost like you've been kicked from the server, except you haven't. I can still chat and see everyone else moving around me fine. If I walk I don't lag, it's only when I try to run. Logging fixes the issue.

Yeah the bounce back is starting to get annoying, has only started after the latest patch for me as well.

It's only happened once for me on Chronicles. Happened a couple of times on Ace (once when I was in Fox KR ><). It's infrequent enough for me not to have bothered reporting it :P
they are talking about if you go overweight and try to run faster then your slowed down speed (only way I knoe to do this is with cheating) you get bounce back.

Hey buddy, couple of questions for you:
What situation are you in when your trying to run overweight?
When you say lag, you mean you are stuck in place? Or like step lag?
BASICALLY, you are getting bounce back because whilst overweight you are running faster than the server expects you to, a common example of this would be weight hack where you are overweight but you have hacked the client to pretend your not.
I am interested in why this is happening to a select number, as I have tested this extensively...
To make it clear I am not accusing you of weight hacking, I would like to understand why you are seeing this where others arn't; td has informed me that he had some unexpected results when experimenting in this area... I would like to understand why.

Lol didn't even know about a weight hack.
i get this when I right click and hold tab so just as I'm about to run the item is picked up and I bounce back.
The lag is like two step lag everyone on screen is fine but I struggle to move and my attacks also lag at the same time.

Yeah I know and I've had it too. I just wondered if the "lag" they mentioned afterwards was the same as the issue I've had a few times. Apparently not.

This part confuses me... The bounce back I can see happening, however I dunno how related this is :O...

Lag might be down to my net hasn't been great recently just seemed odd that it tends to happen when I go overweight.

I used to get the same lag when my sin used flash dash like my chara was bugged could it be that the chara bugs when it goes over bag weight and thinks it's over hand weight too?

They are probably running slightly faster than you when you tested it. Not through cheating but general timer infrequencies. Perhaps the speeds just needs a small modification.
Had this a couple of times, once when I was para'd by Oma king mid cast and a second time by Orc coll
