No cry thread, its a valid point, I too like to play on a fair level playing field, and not have to deal with cheaters, i dont like them in mir, i dont like them in Neverwinter, I dont like them in EQ2 et al....cheaters have a really bad effect on Mir though, especially if they are manipulating items/economy. It makes us honest players struggle when they inflate prices ect. its not even about PvP and loosing to them its about PvE and having an advantage there.

I think sam should also deal with the gold sellers, after all they not hard to catch with names like "SellGold" ect.

Because what you're asking is pretty much impossible, as many people have already explained to you.
IP Bans can be bypassed easily, Hardware ID checks can be bypassed easily, what else would you suggest?
Your reasons may be valid but you can't just say "Why are they allowed to make new accounts?" if you have no proposed way of stopping them.

Didnt Mir have the speed detection software? where it checked your speed, and if u were too fast it kicked you off the server? is that available? or has that become redundant due to the assassin class?

you wrote this thread right after I wipe you and your cronies out in KS KR. sorry mate, it's a cry thread. you talk about wasting time and money... you sit in MW SZ all day outside pot shop tryna fight every man an his dog that comes across ( mainly noobs under level 30 ) to show how much of a big dick you are.

Doesnt matter if i am a level 12 noob that dies everyday and every minute of the day. You cant see the big picture here. this post is mainly for the more experienced players. You may not be trying to work out the Anti cheat system but theres a higher chance you will work it out the system if you are allowed to continue playing here.

I could IP ban, but this may disrupt families who play, take Following and Avatar for example, Avatar was cheating, Following wasn't, this would of unfairly disrupted

Sam

You shouldnt have to avoid a solution just because 2kids that are still in nappies drinkin milk from mothers teet are too broke to get their own home.
If avatar is prepared to put the ip at risk of ban thays him being a quim and should be settled in their own home.

Cheated for 10 seconds but got 2 accounts banned..... Impressive.

Iv not logged in for days now but i still rekon the server has legs. Just need to walk unaided by the cheaters subs and bin them.

What is it that Steam does? When you log in from another PC it flags up as "You are signing in from a different device" even if the device is on the same internet connection.

Surely their checking some form of Hardware ID, maybe you could make use of that method and block their IP & Device.

MAC Address is what they're using. But the difference with Steam is, you need the platform to play all your games. If your steam account gets banned, you're literally ****ed - every game you had on that is now gone. So you have to repurchase every single game.

On an MMO well... ban the account they'll just remake a new one lol. Nothing lost except 1 chars data.

I believe it's still in place. I have no idea about it's effectiveness or how easy it is to bypass, however.

As previously stated... IP banning is impossible, most ISP now have dynamic IP's and for the unlucky few that don't, you just need to google how to mask an ip and you will get a very easy tutorial...

You can attempt to ban hardware, however, virtual machines can get around this "mac spoofing".

You can ban a client exe, but downloading / installing a new client will get around this.

I am open to suggestions on how to permanently ban users, but in all honesty, I don't think its possible.
