Public question and "rant" for the staff as everyone I hear talking about this seems to have the same opinion.

Is the fighting system as it was meant to be? Or the fact melee pvp is so jerky that plenty of hits that shouldnt go in actually do/shoulderdash is pretty much unavoidable/casting spells roots you to the ground/multiple flinching stops the character walking at all/ on par with whats to be expected from this?

Fights have always been a huge part of mir, and they're just not as enjoyable on here due to the above. If all is working as meant to, then tough luck. But if it isn't, letting it sit broken for ages because patches have the priority is just gonna make more and more people quit due to boredom once the lvling craze wears off.

This is a free server ran by people who have rl jobs. I understand that. This doesn't make my point invalid though.

If you have ever had any experience with pvp on euro/whatever just try a war on war pvp. It's a joke. I can still avoid hits but i get hit when i shouldnt and the foe does too. It's not rewarding at all and just becomes a bitchslap match. Now try a war on tao, the tao won't even dare throw 1 SFB as everytime he stops hes potentially dead, so he just poisons the warr and runs about letting pets hit. Once LionRoar actually starts dropping mid lvl taos will be useless at 1v1 (wondering if this is why it's so rare?)
I could go on but whoever has actually played the game will know what I'm on about.

It's also near to impossible to find someone in pvp areas due to the above. Everyone hates to 1v1.

Official answer would be nice, cheers.

Playing a tao I have never had a problem pve but in a group fight when everyone chases a tao around you simply can't stop to cast a spell. I guess curse will change this but until then you just have to run and hope the rest of your grp can get the job done.

Less then 1/4 of the people who answered the survey were here for pvp anyway. So its not that many of you who even care. lets have a FightClub contest room for this minority. Room can be booked for guild/group fights.

Server is incredibly in favour of melee especially wars in pvp they can do silly damage in purely shop dc around 60 DC is very low and they can still do 1/2 hps to wiz and archers already.. wait until they have 90+ dc is gunna be madness, casters feel awfull to play your scared as **** to stop and cast even if theirs a lot of space between you and the target cos you know your going to be rooted and very very slow to move off again it all feels very sluggish and horrible =/

You will care when you are hunting your favourite incredibly mind-challenging mob and you get served by some randomers in a boring fight, or win but still want to kill yourself because it wasn't challenging. Pvp is just cave fighting square rooted. Cave fighting is a feature of cave hunting. So unless you just log on mir and minimize it you are affected as much as everyone else. Albeit being the threads hipster might sound like a good idea, you might aswell give your honest objective view on whats being said.

Warriors have the upper hand in many occasions because hitting targets is very easy, which also means that being hit is really easy and having 7/800hp helps, that said every other class can hit running targets with their non AoE spells, surely something went wrong there.

The stuff that is and feels wrong is way more than this. Useless chatting about it if everything is actually working as intended though.

i tried arcadia last night has same issue as chronicles if you chase people with autorun/rightclick the graphics flinch and you attempt to do 1 hit and it takes 1-4secs for the graphics to catch up so you just stay there like a sitting duck cause of the cluckyness of mir2 pvp mechnaics this is the only game where walking is better then running in pvp for melle, I cant imagine its supposed to do this, Mir3 pvp was so much smoother I am going back mir3 i think the game client cant handle running pvp!

Couldn't Sam and the team make it so that everyone runs at the same speed? Surely it's possible because Jamie/Shane managed it on their server (C#Mir).
It's just a shame they abandoned their project as it looked very promising!

It was the smoothest Mir Server I had ever played, everyone was the same speed regardless of specs and Internet speed, no skipping or anything like that, it was a fair fight in PVP.

It would surely stop all these cheaters because it would be a level playing field so they shouldn't feel the need to cheat and even if some did then you would know for definite because they'd be faster than everyone else.

Give us the cheat's that they are allowing people to use and get away with then we'll all be on a level playing field.

You do realise that probably only about <10% of people playing will ever reach the level to learn ALL their skills, let alone actually get them? Saying "Everyone needs all skills" is ridiculous; You balance the server according to how the majority of the server play and what the majority have, that's the fair way of doing it, then you tweak the high level skills accordingly rather than tweaking the class.
