Interested to hear peoples thoughts on this? There are still bosses that haven't been killed so I don't believe it to be lack of content?

Sam

I do want to enjoy this server and am thankful for the effort put in. This is a list of advice/opinions with a supporting reason for most of them. I am writing this in hopes that it helps with ideas and clarity for the team.

1.From the leaked files it was quite obvious that only orc bosses were worth killing (guessing you are refering to jichon and lost ship here and there drops were no where near worth the effort to go kill them)

2.Mid to high bosses are such bad droppers than even if you farm them solo they are terrible (MTK,BL,ZT, OK, DD, OKS, AQ,MK,KH,iZT,frozen boss guy) This entire group of bosses drop about as good as subs should. The "Mega" bosses drop like these ones should and the ones that are not killed need to be signifigantly better.

3. Related to the above post, gear is way behind. That people would every spend the time and money to make a dc 16 sin wep luck 7 (I have luck 6 ones myself) is a testament to how far the gear is behind.

4.Gems+orbs+refining These are such a huge part of the game that to not have them in the entire time is asking for a server to shut down. Gems and refining both work as item sinks (you could have many more items drop, but they will disappear accordingly to the availability because of geming/refining). A large part of mir is the excitement of losing things and potential upgrades etc. I cannot state how important all these are. Orbs help make even the best item ingame still have potential for upgrades. This vastly increases both the enjoyement and longevity of a server.

5.Leveling. No one wants to both play for 6 years trying to level while at the same time doing it in level 26 gear. You need to understand that everyone doesn't want to grind forever through the same content, skills and items that they have been for the last 10 years. Level 46+ is where your new items/skills START, the idea that 300+ people quit before they even got close to the new content or saw any new skills or items is insane. Most casual players will never get even 45 and so will never play anything other than the same mir experience they have had for the last 10 years. Experience could easily be 4-5X the current rate (after 44) and you would be near the sweet spot for longevity of the server and overall user satisfaction.
An additional note on leveling, because the items, upgrades, drops and gems are all so far behind, skills like TU that require no gear are very OP compared to the leveling of all 4 other classes. (you can go look fairly often 1 wiz is level multiple other people who are half afk because of this.)

ACEM2 still had more users at this point. ACEM2 was 10x more fun than this server. Up the exp and drops, bring in your new content for level 40-60. Level 80 in a years time, why not? Whos gonna be moaning about DDS's dropping then?

I think that may be some of my problem, as i'm basing my experiences here, compared to Ace, which was higher rates all round >.<

On Ace, i could pop on for an hour or so, farm some IWT's, or go vipers to level and still have some reward at the end, casual but fun, no pressure.

I was referring to Jinchon and Lost... I find it hard to comment on drops as I didn't make the initial set... I can understand that this adds to the frustration as I appear to be evasive/avoid questions/queries on drops but it comes down to the fact that many of the players probably know the old drops better than I do.

2.Mid to high bosses are such bad droppers than even if you farm them solo they are terrible (MTK,BL,ZT, OK, DD, OKS, AQ,MK,KH,iZT,frozen boss guy) This entire group of bosses drop about as good as subs should. I can appreciate this... We have increased drops but I am assuming that people are still unhappy.

4.Gems+orbs+refining These are such a huge part of the game that to not have them in the entire time is asking for a server to shut down. Gems and refining both work as item sinks (you could have many more items drop, but they will disappear accordingly to the availability because of geming/refining). I really dislike Gem/Orbs, I love refining, but I guess I work for the people :P... Gemming/Orbing/Refining is coming in 2.0.

AceM2 wasn't as popular as everyone thinks... Sure the UC showed 250-300 players... But you have to appreciate that this UC included 100+ Stalls, Afker Miners and General afkers in town...

I quit 3 weeks or so ago. wish I had quit a month or so before, was hoping for things to change/ enjoyment to kick. maybe the buzz on items dropping, then maybe the buzz of a item upgrading or breaking. Only joy we had was lucking the fate blades, well the 1st one.

Maybe ive grown out of mir who knows.

Your not alone ~ suggested best of 2worlds (Mir2/Mir3) for mir chronicles but its not wanted ~ i had 2 month fun then empty...
To make a Server like Chronicles is a good idea * but i feel it has no aspect/love/concept or wtf you want to call it.

Mir2 Community wants it to be more rare ~ dont want mobs drops and if then 10000x more bad then a 5 minute boss you kill.
Mir3 Community (the ones on server) feel like wtf. only boss boss boss boss...

Samuel i know its sure not easy ~ but u should think really about it and consider whats possible. Its not like ppl want to destroy your work or want to talk it bad but u need rethink about some changes ~ "Not 2.0" ~ 2.0 wont be the holy grail for this community from the Information we have.

I feel formyself this server rushed to fast Puplic.

Lost maps according to the Player base should even drop more less then anything cause its abused to level faster ,) *u got it ?

Nvm. the current player base who stay online dont want any changes. /you got it? - Life with it or change server according there statements they replied in several threads at the end only they play this server wich is i guess absolute ok - cause thats what they want.

all these bosses that drop **** are easy as **** tho (except maybe a couple)

why not beef up all the king rooms to make them totally solid bosses and mobs inside them (so that 2 people cant go kill them on there own) and beef up the drops to go with it. and maybe put the current difficulty ones in earlier rooms to randomly encounter.

just a thought

Then as a hardcore Mir player, you surely could understand that all bosses had a chance to drop rare. 40 weaps used to drop off mtk, zt, oks, kh, dd, BL, ec, es etc. 43 weaps dropped off mtk, ok, oks. Even wt used to drop tele rings.

As the other guy mentioned, iwt used to drop lower tier items a lot. Power rings, gbeads, gale neck, knight brace... And equvilent for classes. These could be killed casually for people.

These aren't exactly items that will ruin the server, these are items that everyone should have as a base... Higher stuff like pb items and higher could be rarer, OSR, baek TA glove, hero neck etc. fox items higher.

I only played one other private server, so my judgment from euro is still fresh in the head, and not influenced by other private servers.

Drops have always been an important aspect to Mir, it's why people fight for bosses. It's why people pk each other. It's very boring when your efforts go wasted.

The server count is low, if we get on average 200-250 on a good night? How many are afk in town, how many are playing 2 characters?

Problem is not everyone wants to just be killing the big bosses, alot of people i know have left because, unless it's just killing bosses there's nothing else fun to do.(And the bosses, unless it's orc ones i hear aren't really worth killing anyway) Not enough dropping (item to level) unless it's leveling which feels a huge ball ache that's about it. I did enjoy leveling, but everything seems so hard, so much effort for no reward at all.

The mobs don't have enough chance to drop, and i personally dont have the kit/friends online anymore to kill subs etc, not that they're much better. Even looking at IWT's where on ace i used to live every day because it was worth the time, they're just not worth the effort/time anymore, not that i have the kit for my level to kill them lol.

I do want to play, but 99% of people i played with have left, therefor i don't play anymore. It feels impossible to solo, because what once i found the most enjoyable aspect (the grind) has because what feels like a chore.

I/and other's i know want to look forward to something, to feel as if we have a chance each day of something nice dropping ( i mean, even a pring, dragon ring, something..) without having to be in a guild who boss hunts all day everyday.

Think we should all be in kit related to our level, not level 44 taos in serp swords, or 43 wars in corals because nothing drops from mobs >.<

P/s i want nothing but the best for the server, hell i want to play it, and it's annoying me that i can't, but everytime i log in, and run to zt/bdd etc to level but then i think, do i really want to be sitting here for the next 6 hours getting 0.0.0.0.0.1% per mob for absolutely no gain, so i log. :zz

The longer it takes for 2.0 to come in, the more will leave and the harder you'll find it to gain the player base back, which is a shame because i know how much time and effort nemo has been putting into 2.0. :(

I completely agree with DG. I feel the only option for a decent return is join one of the biggest guilds, get in the boss hunt group which is mostly for the elite few, anything else isn't worth doing. Hunting hundreds of hours solo I've got nothing, where as the biggest guilds in game get a 10 mill item every night but if you're not in the biggest guilds you can't compete.

Besides my FPS is not fast enough to PvP with these people who have tweaked their PCs to perfection. I am also finally bored and have just about lost interest too.

Not enough content to do outside of bossing and levelling.

People thought they wanted a Euro server, sad fact is people don't really know what they want. They want a server that has loads of custom things (which yours has) but with all the features and content a new server brings. New caves. Even just reworked caves, same mobs but different map used, is fresh and new.

My personal opinion is, every boss other than collosus/OrcWarLord feels like dirt to kill. Even EvilMir feels like dirt for the effort involved. Not enough benes/sunbundles dropping to make up for no drop (this applies to every single boss ingame, EC, ZT, Mir King, etc) Not enough "semi-trash" items. The current "semi-trash items" you have (black dragon items, zuma items) are only good for wizz/tao/archer, because of the lack of a.speed on them they will never be used on warr or sins. You should have made an entire kit out of these also, not just weapons.

The servers that were truly fun offered people a lot to do at all times. Questing at the moment is just something to take your mind off the grind. Why not make a fun quest? a challenge quest? A do-this-in-X-Time quest. Daily Quests. HIDDEN quests/npc's etc.

Something to keep people logging on every day, is what your server currently lacks. You have an amazing set of files, but almost no real "new" content as it's all based around Euro/Ace.

I'm hoping 2.0 pulls away from Euro Mir greatly and starts offering people things to do every single day. Reward people for logging on every single day (7th day get given a bene or something)

Small incentives changes everything. This is the best advice I can give.

And you Koriban has nothing to suggest u want it rare so let it be rare. Lets look what your opinion will lead the server population...

I don't even play now I haven't for at least 3 weeks now, along with a fair few of us whom shall I state were big players throughout ace beginning to end. We all migrated back to WoW point being we can go at our own pace and still catch people who have played for years, yes I know this isn't WoW before anyone states the obvious.

Point is he's completely right, back when you played back when a lot of us played we weren't casual your right.
But now we're all grown up, well the vast majority; we have jobs, family, hobbies other things to do in our lives than waste it spending 12-16 hours a day on mir!

I know now when I did play I was lucky to be on 3-5 hours a day sometimes a lot less, you can't get a lot done in that time. I was never able to compete with the 'geeks' end of, this, for me ended it abruptly. After speaking with other long time players or mir a hand full of us vowed never to return to mir after this.

All the the best though.

I am confused... And this leads me to believe that not everyone read/understood the files properly... I agree that the rates needed/may still need adjusting... But all of these things drop from the mobs you have stated?

As the other guy mentioned, iwt used to drop lower tier items a lot. Power rings, gbeads, gale neck, knight brace... And equvilent for classes. These could be killed casually for people.

Again, this is the same as above?

These aren't exactly items that will ruin the server, these are items that everyone should have as a base... Higher stuff like pb items and higher could be rarer, OSR, baek TA glove, hero neck etc. fox items higher.

I appreciate that the server has significantly dropped in UC (Probably more than any private server ever has due to us being the largest p server that has ever existed)... I want to understand why this is the case, I don't play Chronicles I vowed to "never try my own supply" as it were as I believe it can lead to a biased opinion, this is why I do call on the community quite a lot, the problem with this is that no one person is in agreement with another... Ever... (with the exception of drops, you all seem pretty unified).

This is Mir is it not? (This is a genuine question)

I understand where your coming from. I believe the reality is as koriban mentioned earlier people don't really know what they want. For this game to be successful currently I think it does need to evolve with the times. Can be structured on euro mir fun but not a clone, those of us who played euro mir are both significantly older than we were then and have played many games in between. Everyone is excited to play new content, spells, gear etc because this means new dynamics in pvp, new ways of fighting or killing bosses, new ways of leveling and grinding etc. We have played the euro clone for near a decade and it needs to be moved past this.
Some ideas
-Really long runs = not fun. Teles, horses and maps are all nice, get us to the playing faster.
-casual leveler can get to the content
-some reward for medium- high bosses again for the casual player and small guild
-good reward for higher bosses-leads to pvp and guild fun
- Leveling and skills. Playing a game without access to skills and/or the levels required to get these skills significantly hampers the fun. Like playing the game handicapped and this is where the game is actually able to move itself past just being a euro clone.

Drops do need changes but not one extreme to another please! PB as an example, usually my favourite place to hunt but the drops there are so bad it makes it boring and not worth the effort. Players should expect the odd large stone, 40 armour, stuff like baeks and trigs but very rare, a LOT more pots and junk to sell. These places shouldn't be good cashing places but not so bad that a few hunts leaves you skint. (Plus the exp there isn't even x2).

Players need more things to work towards as there is no sense of progression with the levelling and drop rates so low. The quests, refining, gemming at 2.0 are exactly the type of things that's needed. The crafting NPC should include new items that are actually worth the effort because the kit on there now is pretty useless other than the boots and belts. Players will have a variety of things to do then instead of same old boss/level.

Bosses should be rewarding pretty much every kill imo, as it is I lose gold from bossing usually and rarely get anything I need. Not asking for good rares every time but more gold, more med level rares etc. Wooden chests.. if these rewarded 100-200gg instead of 1-10 then they would be worth it but atm you may aswell remove them from game. Would like to see something like obtaining boss points from each kill which can be exchanged for pots/semi rares etc. Then even the unlucky people who hardly get a drop can gain something.

Exp in pb in vipers needs changing to x2 aswell, levelling is already slow enough

Random events at random times might be quite nice too.

I always remember mobs invading towns on euro (and even lords for that matter, which caused mass brawls) which was quite fun

+1 for invasions they were great
