Some questions about geming and refining?

Dear team,

I am wondering that if there is a geming cap or refining cap?
If there is, does the luck of curse also count?

Luck/Curse does not effect upgrade stats.

There is a +3 limit on gems per stat so you could have +3 MC, +3 DC, +3 SC on a single item, but only +3 per stat.

There is a +10 limitation on refinery.

Refine and Gems are coupled, so if you have refined your weapon twice, then you only have the opportunity to use 1 gem before hitting the limitation... However, you could use 3 gems and still have 7 refines left if you so wish.

If you refined a weapon 3 times, then the next would be treated as the fourth upgrade (and a gem wouldn't work), visa versa.

The refinery formulas have changed now, so I am interested to see what people come up with.

If an item drops with +2 SC ... can you only gem it once? Or can it still be gemmed 3 times?

very good question. Personally I think the +2 should not be counted so that it is still "special" (like me)

What affect do runes have?
I have a storage full of 2 and 3 slot (unslotted) decent items as an investment by chance.

Does a dc rune count as a +1 towards gem/refine totals?
Does an empty slot count towards anything added stat wise?

Im hoping that my 3 slot goldbracers and evasion brace can be dc gemmed 3 times then slotted afterwords giving a potential +6 dc evasion/gold brace

Some final clarification would be nice.. Did my chance buying pay off :)

why o why limit wep refining >< sure some ppl may get lucky with +20 magestaff etc but thats part of the fun.

100% clarify runes do not affect the gem limit of +3, rune stats and gem stats gained are completely seperate. :D

I took from your post that they ate completely seperate so if the item is runed already or not wont make a difference. So the value is standard 3slot value
What i was hoping is that 3empty slots could be gemmed first but 3 runed slots couldnt.
Giving empty slot items a potential to be +6 but already runed ones would sit at +3.

It's seperate, so won't effect.

If you had a 3 slot weapon, and refined / gemmed it to +10 .. then you could still add your 3 runes to it.

Max on an item is +6 of one stat +3 with gems +3 slotted and max on a wep is +13, 10 with refines +3 slotted.

Maaaaybe you should all wait and see what BH has to say about Chronicles' implementation of refining, which might be different from the base AceM2 refining/gemming?

No? We'll all just speculate wildly based on absolutely no facts at all?

Is there a delay on refining or is it instant?

if i remember correctly with refining you have to wait 1 hour
you then test it by hitting somthing once physically

it either holds and the refine is succesful OR it breaks and the weapon shatters and is lost
so a refine certainly is NOT gauranteed to work
