I think it's time for us to know more details about the whole news contained in patch 2.0.

I am personally most interested in the detail of the new skills and how it will look after the mass market of new items to the game.

Admins slowly develop the server and worth to know something more about the details of further changes.

I know that you wrote what is your goal for the next week but I still feel hungry for information about what specifically will be required to have new skills and items, and where you can get them.

Hope most players agree with me.

Half of the 2.0 stuff has been added (refining,New caves, some of the new quests)
New spells will not be added until we are happy with the old ones, also new items will not be added in the next few weeks as there are still lots of items that need to drop (I am looking into drops again)

You say we are working slowly on the server, in the last 6 weeks there have been a lot of bug fixes, new caves added, new monsters added with never before seen magics and attacks (all custom coded by one person) bugs, bots and cheats are dealt with on a daily bases. Replies are given to 90% of forum posts, PMs, emails and Facebook PMs and comments.
What more do you want us to do?

Patch 2.0 was broken up into parts and some of these parts have been added to the server.
This week we are working on bug fixes and stuff along those lines.

New items will be level 35+ as stated in the 2.0 thread and new skills will be 40+ and will not be added untill we sort the exp cap.

You really expect 2 people who work full time with real life jobs, family as well as all the other stuff like bug fixes, cheats and bots, to be rolling out updates each week, really we are not machines.

Once I sort the exp cap, this will not be a problem. Also the 1.5% exp for below 35 in some leveling caves will aid players to level fast to gain access to these spells.

All of this applied to the even newer drops I hope to add and the plans to add craft able skills are all designed to aid players in gaining access to the new content.

I dont think there are many people 0-35 that are bored or have given up due to exp being too hard to get.
I have worked out that i can do around 1.6mill exp per day. Thats my time restrictions and life comitments. I want to get 45 to see and play this new content. Im not even lvl 44 yet but if i was it would take me 100 days. I still have all of 42 and 43 to go before that... 200days or so? If i play everyday and grind exp those days.

You spit in the face of casual players, forget about reducing xp up to 35, give something back to the people struggling to find time to play this game.

For every hour your logged off you gain 10 mins of 1.5% exp any level. Upto maximum of 3 hours.
But you get nothing if you were logged on for 5hrs or more the previous 24hrs.
Its not about catching up. Its about playing the game and sll of its content.

I have been making changes to try help the casual players, also exp is not getting reduced, a boost is being added to some leveling caves so that players who play for only a few hours a day can level a little faster in order to catch up to some of the player base.

Your idea of an exp boost for being logged off would not work and would just mean players would stay logged out and it would also upset non casual players (I have to think about both sets of players and then find a balance between the two)

Hardcore players who level non-stop never seemed to be bothered that casuals or alts get a rested bonus for playing less in MMOs that have rested XP implemented (LotRO, Warhammer, WoW from personal experience). Because the casuals won't come anywhere close to the hardcores even with a 200% exp buff.

Explain how a 45+ cave with new content, new enemy skill types is helping casual players, isnt it just excluding them?

Helping new casual players to 35 is nice enough. Im not a new casual player though... Like many others.
Ive stuck By this server as i enjoy it, running around with a level 20 weapon at level 30+, having none of the skills for my level. You fixed these things.
Now you are releasing content that im unlikley to get to see this year..

It may be selfish of me but i dont care if the non casuals get upset if the casuals get a boost. They can go get jobs or spend some time with family itll do them good.

Once a month do a total logged in time and give everyone under a certain amount a chance..
Or better still change the content to be available to all.

I know theres a balancing act but excluding the casual player will lead to a low user count. Plenty of servers keep the "hardcore" "nolifers" "dedicated" (however you title them) players interested but they all fail to stay open without the casual playerbase.

If you are not intending to do anything to change this so that the 36-44 casuals are not excluded, can you give some insight into future content? Will this also be higher again? Im talking about new exciting stuff not the recycled old stuff.

How do you think people would react to brand new content, with good drops. New enemy skills for level 35-40 only.
There would be uproar!

This is mir it predates any other mainstream mmo currently being played and is treated as a hardcore experience. Tbh all the crys about 1 map being restricted is nonsense when 80% of the new content is aimed for the current level cap witch is soon going to be realsed from being capped. Seriously even zeuss doesn't cry as much as some of you newer players.

There is a big difference between cries and constructed feedback regarding the exclusion of a certain type of player.

Rested EXP is actually a good idea and has been implemented successfully in many MMO's. It also benefits everybody, after all hardcore players have to sleep sometimes...

No offence, but the casual player base is unpredictable, you cant cater a game to people "who might play this week" , Hardcore players are reliable, they are your bread and butter, they ARE the community as they show up every day and keep your user counts replenished.
Unlike other major mmo's, mir doesn't have the player base to appeal to a wide enough audience of "casual players" who may show up this week to justify appealing to that sector of players.

Mir has always been a "hardcore" game, and hardcore games require time and effort.
I see a lot of people crying that its not easy enough, if you want an easy mode server where you level up just unsheathing your sword at an oma, or guaranteed rares every time you kill a boss(which obv doesn't make them rare anymore.. go figure) , go find a high rate server, i believe there's one in development :RpS_rolleyes:

We don't ask for guaranteed rares, we just ask for some mid tier trash items that we can make a little bit of gold or maybe go to 1 of our 11-20 members who spend / make time and even stay up late on work nights to make the effort that's involved to kill the big boss's, but nope we get a couple of benes.

When the bosses do drop well, you get rewarded.

No offence taken, its a fair opinion, I think your wrong that the hardcore are the be all and end all. Its the casual players that give the game an economy, hardcore players dont need to buy items because they have the time to hunt long enough and often enough to find them.
I cant imagine a hardcore player has bought a dragonring for months. but they still sell and are considered a pot covering drop, thats because your casual player has just bought it.
I dont think any server can exist without both the hardcore and the casual as they balance each other.

I certainly dont want an easy server, I dont complain about things like Orcs being too hard for me, I wouldnt complain if i got my arse handed to me in hell. My issue is that i CANT experience the new content anytime this year the way things are.

I have suggested a few things across different posts.
I think the best soulution for this cave would be to lower the required level to enter by 1 level every 2 weeks until it sits at level 40.

This solution (to a clear problem) would still give the hardcore players their benefit of hunting first and capatlising on tactics, loot and sale prices ahead of the increased "hunter" count every 2 weeks.

i think your idea of a hardcore game is a lot different to other peoples hardcore game, cause your drops files were utterly stupid, no offence

You know so very little about what actually happened.

But as i'm not in the habit of trying to make other people look bad, I'll take it on the chin for the "team".
